Beautiful Waterfront Home on Watauga River

Brand new to VRBO June 1st 2023. Gorgeous and completely remodeled waterfront home on the beautiful Watauga River. The house was completely remodeled in 2023 with all new windows, life proof flooring, granite countertops, appliances, new black metal roof, new interior and exterior paint, new composite front door, new lights and fans, landscaping, etc. This is a $500K immaculate home right on the river. You might stay somewhere cheaper but you will not stay anywhere nicer in this area. Please look at our cabin VRBO #2196043 if you need something smaller yet just as beautiful, its really made for 2 people but will sleep 4 if needed.

The house includes a brand new 12' x 12' Trex river dock with stainless steel cables for railing, so as not to diminish the river views. There is also a brand new private boat ramp for those coming in to fish or kayak. Excellent place for a large group or a small group and all the comforts of home. The river deck and mountain deck will be furnished with furniture (not pictured yet), and a grill on the mountain deck. You can fish nearly 300 feet of the river along the property bank. In the summer months you will see lots of rafters, kayaks, and drift boats going by. The house is located on the main road to Wilbur Dam, and is 3 miles downstream from the dam, and not in a floodplain. The back yard has a large chainlink fence for your pets containment and safety, with direct access from the french doors off of the mountain deck.

From the front of the house all you see is the beautiful river flowing by, from the sides of the house and back all you see is the beautiful Holston Mountain Range. The house has brand new appliances, furniture, mattresses, etc. Incredible entertainment package with Direct TV and a 75" Ultra 4K Samsung in the den and a 65" Samsung Ultra 4k in the primary bedroom. Bose wave radio. Front load washer and dryer for long stays. The front porch will have rocking chairs. More pictures to come. Book now for your next getaway in a spectacular setting. Amazing and Much Needed Vacation!

I had a wonderful time at this property. Iā€™ll admit I was slightly underwhelmed when I first arrived, only because I had imagined the water would be directly behind the homeā€”I was looking forward to having my morning coffee by the water. However, once I settled in, everything exceeded expectations.The house itself is beautifulā€”comfortable, clean, and full of character. Host Mike was fantastic, offering great suggestions on local things to do. He quickly hit it off with my husband and encouraged him to go fishing one last time. That trip resulted in an unforgettable catch: a large brown trout that chased and ate his smaller rainbow trout right at the shore!As a Doctor of Nursing Practice in critical care, Iā€™ve been working nonstop for the past six months without a single day off. I donā€™t unwind easily. But Mikeā€™s homeā€”and his welcoming hospitalityā€”made it possible for me to truly relax and slow down, even if just for a little while. Iā€™m grateful for the peace I found during this stay.

We were in town for a 60th birthday party nearby and this place was perfect. We loved being right on the river and the sunsets were beautiful. Mike was such a great host and had recommendations when we needed them :)The master bedroom was so comfy and had heated blankets for when it was chilly! The entertainment system was awesome and we loved watching movies. The fenced in backyard was great for our little one to play outside, and the front porch was perfect for sittin and sipping refreshments morning and night.We definitely hope to be back in the fall :)

Beautiful location

The host, Mike, was very responsive and communicated with us before, during, and after our stay. We came in town for a graduation from ETSU and wanted a few days to explore and relax. The house is beautiful and a fenced backyard was such a bonus for us because we have dogs. The deck on the river made for relaxation during the day and evening. I would recommend this house to anyone wanting a space to relax and enjoy the beauty of East Tennessee! This was a beautiful place to unwind and spend time with family!

I wish I could stay longer!

We had a wonderful time! It was perfect for us. The view was beautiful and the house was updated. There is a fence in the backyard even. We have tall men in our family and the living room seating was very comfortable with leather couches that reclined. We spent Christmas there and would do it again. The host was reachable and very nice. I am so pleased.

What a beautiful place to stay! We enjoyed our time there visiting with family. Beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday inside and outside. Easy access to the Watauga River and Local places. Perfectly Cozy

This property proved to be the perfect place for a small family gathering. The bedrooms are roomy and the kitchen / dining room and living room spaces were perfect for us. It was clean and inviting and had all of the amenities that we needed for our stay. The home was all decked out with Christmas decor which really added to our wonderful experience. Check in was effortless and communication with Mike was easy, as he provided us with clear instructions from our online reservation through check out. Didn't get to check out the riverside deck due to cold weather, but will definitely consider this property again if we need a place to stay in the future!

Beautiful weekend getaway!

We loved our stay at this lovely home on the Watauga River! First of all, the house was by far the cleanest property weā€™ve ever stayed at. We were so comfortable and cozy during the time we spent in the living room watching the huge tv. Our host, Mike, provided live streaming tv channels from all the major networks in the US, along with sports (my hubby was able to watch his WVU Mountaineers play football) and an amazing array of the newest movies available. The house is beautifully furnished and the bed in the primary bedroom provided the best two nightsā€™ sleep Iā€™ve had in ages. Iā€™ll have to ask Mike where he got that mattress! The kitchen has the most up-to-date appliances and the AC/heater worked seamlessly to keep us comfortable, even with our current weather that can be warm in the day and cold at night. Mike responded quickly to our questions and was a gracious and accommodating host. Our pups loved exploring the large fenced-in yard. And the views are amazing! We were able to enjoy gorgeous sunrises over the mountains from the back of the property and then take in the breathtaking sunsets over the lake from the front porch. Even with an almost full moon, we were able to see so many stars. My hubby enjoyed fishing steps away from the front door on the dock while I sat on the rocking chair to take in the beauty of the lake. By the way, if youā€™re a photographer, the golden hour here is amazing.

My wife and our group of friends stayed in this property for the weekend to watch the Bristol night race. The house is in excellent condition, very clean and in a beautiful location. The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Relaxing fishing vacation

My wife and I came up the Watauga to relax and for me to trout fish. The house was extremely comfortable and well furnished. The mornings on the front porch looking at the river and drinking coffee were only rivaled by peaceful afternoons on the back porch looking at the mountains. The king size master bed was comfortable and we slept well. The river was loaded with hard fighting trout. We had a great time

Great Place

Spent a few days at this great place while in the great state of Tennessee attending a celebration of life for my father at his house in Blountville. The house was nice had everything we needed, loved having the river right there to fish. We enjoyed our stay and will be back since the fishing was very good and there's lots that we wanted to explore unfortunately didn't have the time to do so this trip.

Home Away From Home

This place has everything you want and more. Comfortable beds, clean, cozy, homey high end atmosphere and fishing for my husband. Who caught some trout in our short visit and managed to miss the "Big One" that spit out the lure. We stayed there while visiting family in Bristol and had a wonderful time. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook or entertain a small gathering. The property manager is just awesome and willing to answer any question you may have right away. He truly furnished this home with top of the line appliances and furniture. What you see in the pictures is what you get plus even more. Rent this home with confidence. Highly recommended.

60th birthday in the mountains

We had a wonderful time celebrating my 60th in this beautiful area. Loved the location and easy to get to Wautaga lake, wineries, Johnson city and quaint Elizabethton. The house was clean, great comfortable mattresses and no problem locating anything in the fully stocked kitchen. It was perfect. We loved the dock across the street and a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine and watch the wildlife on the river.

Great home!

This is a beautiful home in a beautiful location. It was very clean on check-in, the check-in/check-out were super quick and easy, everything was as expected, the owner is very responsive and friendly (even going as far as sharing some fishing advice), and the location is perfect! We had a great, albeit short, stay in which we did a ton of fishing at the property and several places nearby, spent some time in town, and explored some beautiful scenery. Overall great property and owner!
