The Neighborhood:
A traditional local pub, small supermarket, fruit and veg shop and a fishmonger are all directly on our doorstep. You can also find a tremendously friendly cafe, Chinese takeaway, pizzeria and fish and chip shop at the top of the street. There is also a renovated Police Box Coffee Shop immediately opposite the flat. The Cheesee Peesee van parks at the bottom of the road at the weekend with artisan and unusual cheeses for sale. The apartment is located very close to The Meadows - a vibrant, friendly, green park with plenty of space to run or cycle, and also contains some play areas for children. There is also a miniature golf course on the adjacent Bruntsfield Links

La ubicación fue bastante buena, cerca de la universidad de Edinburgo, lo que era muy importante para mi. Hay supermercados y restaurantes cerca y se enceuntra a poco menos de una milla de los principales lugares de interés de la ciudad. Lo únicos problemas fueron la intermitencia del wifi, y en cuanto a limpieza, podría haber sido mejor. Algunas repisas estaban un poco polvosas. Nada tremendo.

Great location but the House needs a serious cleaning.

We stayed here recently on a trip in from Boston Massachusetts. We had taken the red eye and were pretty exhausted and had our luggage with us so I had reached out to see if early check in was possible. The host said no guaretee but to let them know when we arrived and she would see if that was possible. I reached out and she stated that it wasn’t possible because of the housekeeping team needing to make the place clean enough for our stay. I understand that they are not at all obligated to allow us for early check in but because of how it was said I expected the place to be tidy. We arrived and I was surprised to see that the house looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. The rugs looked dirty with crumbs or dirt, the ceilings and light fixtures were covered in cobwebs and the kitchen table was very sticky. There were also clothes left behind by a previous guest. The bathroom and shower situation was also not great. A small glass partition was all there was to prevent water from getting all over the floor and it looked as though some of the tiles were lifting and water had been getting under the tiles for a long time.

Effective but disappointing

The place was farther than expected, but had spacious family and dining rooms, the bedrooms were small and we had to take turns to open our suitcases. It did have a nice television and very nice streaming movies. The dishwasher was broken, the hot water tank needed tweaking to work properly, the shower didn’t have a door and consequently made the only bathroom in the house very wet after a shower. The house is old and shows its age.

Flat by the meadows

We really enjoyed the trip and the flat was a perfect location. The flat itself was very spacious and a good size for our group. Supplies were pretty sparse - not a single square of toilet paper or dish soap in the flat on arrival. Luckily, there was a co-op on the corner to get supplies. The third bedroom was really a box closet with a twin bed and no window. It worked ok for a kid, but not sure it qualifies as a bedroom. The mattresses were a little hard and old - could feel the springs. They would benefit from some mattress toppers. We couldn’t figure out how to turn on the heat and hot water. The boiler was depressurized and there weren’t good instructions in the portal to turn it on. We had to call the property management company and they were very responsive and helpful.

great management company

Couldn't find the lockbox on a dark Sunday afternoon. They immediately picked up the phone and directed me to where it was in a friendly manner. Stayed on the line while i got into the apartment. Had a small problem with a drain. They dispatched a repairperson within hours. Great property in a great location.
