Nestled in the beautiful Dumfries & Galloway countryside, the lodge benefits from stunning views across to the Solway Firth, Lake District and Criffel to the west.
With a welcoming and spacious open plan design, three good size bedrooms, and private enclosed garden, the lodge is the perfect getaway for up to 6 guests. Families looking to spend some quality time together can enjoy fantastic country walks or exploring nearby Caerlaverock Castle and wetlands.
Furry friends are welcome too!

ENTRANCE Enter the lodge to a small hallway area with room to store coats and shoes.
OPEN PLAN SITTING AREA With comfortable sofas, the sitting area has plenty of room for cosy evenings in front of the smart TV, alternatively, if you still have energy after a fun packed day exploring all our beautiful region has to offer, enjoy family games night there's plenty of room for all the family and board games are included with your stay! There are double doors leading out to the garden area and it's stunning views, this is the ideal spot for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine.
KITCHEN AREA The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing a light lunch or full evening meal and being open plan, you won't miss out on all the family fun!
DINING AREA The good size table will seat 6 comfortably for mealtimes or is a great base for family games night.
MASTER BEDROOM The master bedroom is a spacious room with a super comfortable double bed and plenty of storage space and with it's own en-suite shower room it is the perfect place to get a good night sleep after a busy day.
BEDROOM 2 Bedroom 2 has a spacious king size bed, again with ample storage for personal belongings.
BEDROOM 3 (TWIN) Bedroom 3 has twin beds and is a great space for children who will quickly make this their own hideaway!
MAIN BATHROOM The main bathroom is a good size with shower cubicle, basin & WC.
OUTSIDE SPACE The lodge benefits from both a patio area and private fully enclosed garden. The garden is a great place to relax with a glass of wine in the evening whilst taking in the fantastic views. The private garden area is to the rear of the lodge and has a table and chairs to seat 6.
Lilypad Lodge is located near Glencaple in Dumfries & Galloway.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside walks it is ideal for those guests who enjoy the outdoors.
Just beyond Glencaple is the fairy tale-like Caerlaverock Castle. Meaning ‘fort of the skylark,’ Caerlaverock is a moated triangular castle, first built in the 13th century, and was once home to Clan Maxwell.
Built to control trade within the area, before being besieged and rebuilt many times, including during the Scottish War of Independence, the castle was eventually abandoned in the 17th century. It is now a must on the Bucket List. Open all year round, excluding the festive period, Historic Scotland/England members get in free, and visits are enhanced by a downloadable, augmented reality app, a cafe and gift shop, exhibitions, demonstrations and woodland walks.
Adjacent to Caerlaverock Castle is Caerlaverock WWT Nature Reserve, one time host of the BBC’s Autumnwatch, is a 1500 acre area of farmland, mudflat, salt-marsh and freshwater wetland situated along the Solway coast and home to thousands of wild fowl, waders and water loving mammals during any given season.
13 hides are scattered across a wide expanse of the reserve, allowing visitors to take full advantage of the sights and sounds of nature on offer, including osprey and natterjack toads in spring, butterflies, skylark and badgers in summer, 27’000 Svalbard barnacle geese and whopper swans in autumn and huge starling murmurations winter. It’s a great location to immerse kids in the wonder of nature, with feeding sessions, sculptural installations and art exhibitions, not to mention the annual Puddle Jumping Championships, to also help keep them occupied.
Dumfries itself is a short 18 minute drive away, this historical market town has a wonderful array of local attractions and a rich Scottish history.
