"Great location very helpful staff and a fantastic bar with a lovely atmosphere even in january . One of the best breakfasts ive had in a hotel buffet style with very attentative staff. Rooms basic but clean with a comfy bed all you need really had a great 2 nights and would book again with no hesetation . Big thank you to all at the royal ."

"The best part of this hotel is the sea view (at least from my room), a good bed and a good breakfast. All the rest such as furniture, carpets, walls and doors painting in the corridors and inside the room are very damaged by time and lack of maintenance. The cleanliness was very bad, I found a lot of long hair on the carpet, which was not mine (I have short hair) - throughout my stay there. "Excellent room with incredible views over the North Bay. The restaurant is light and airy and the breakfast was just what was needed. The staff are also really helpful and clearly want the guests to enjoy their stay."

"Rooms was very nice especially with the sea view but what mostly stood out was how polite and caring the staff where any problem we had they fixed so a big thank you to them. Upgraded my room for no extra charge twice because we ended up booking another 2 nights there because how much we enjoyed the whole experience will always be the hotel of choice for us when going to Scarborough "

"Great value for money. Obviously the building is a bit dated but it's what you'd expect for the price. I've stayed in more expensive hostels that were not as clean etc. This room was clean. People said on other reviews said about the walls being thin which is true if there's loud people in so basically like any hotel.
