"We had a great stay in New Castle. The house is located right of the main road but, it still felt private and secluded. The amenities outside really made this location. Great areas to relax and enjoy nature. There is an adorable coffee shop in town that serves breakfast and lunch. Roanoke is a 40 minute drive from town. I traveled with my elderly father so, we did not hike any of Jefferson National Forests. We are hoping to travel back in when it’s warmer to the joy the property and area more. "

"Had a small issue with the master bedroom, however the host was quick to offer solutions. Everything else was great…huge yard with dog disposal, inside had pretty much everything you need and other reviewers all commented on it. Super close to the Triple Crown hikes. If I had to nitpick? More blinds or curtains for increased privacy. Otherwise, really great property and host!"

"The cabin was very quiet, just what we came for during our sisters' weekend getaway as a meeting place between North Carolina and Ohio. It was very clean (that's important and easily critiqued for me). The photos don't do the nice cabin justice. It's new, and still has a new smell as of October 2025. "We had a wonderful weekend stay for our daughter's wedding. The house has been completely renovated with the top-of-the-line furniture and appliances. Every room is exquisitely furnished. We LOVED the fire pit and smores which our hosts graciously supplied. The countryside was quiet and the night-time stars were spectacular. We highly recommend this beautiful home for any stay you have in the area. "

"Great stay! So honored to be the second guests! This place is adorable. Very well done. Stayed here with my husband and three teenagers. Came to enjoy a VT football game and to bring our freshman daughter home for Thanksgiving. We were all very comfortable and happy. The location is beautiful and peaceful. "We had a great stay overall! The animals were all nice besides the donkey. The market was nice for breakfast and a little shopping. The cabin was a bit chilly the first night as there’s not really insulation but with both heaters going and the fan blowing towards the roof it made it more than comfortable the second night. "No Check in as 21:30 h do dia 16/07 não foi tão bom, estamos exaustos e aguardamos 15 minutos na recepção, pq o pessoal estava na parte de traz batendo papo . Mas no dia seguinte tudo compensou , maravilhoso , o rapaz da loja de produtos Durty dancing, foi incrível , deixei todas as minhas diletas lá kkkk comprei muito , 500,00 dollares com muito gosto. Não teve como segurar as lágrimas de emoção, aquilo era um sonho realizado . O lago não tem mais, mas tudo vale a pena , O café da manhã maravilhoso, eu comi muito pouco , sou vegetariana e pra mim nsl tinha quase opção , a não ser algumas frutas e omelete com vegetais. Atendimento maravilhoso no restaurante . Super recomendo , e quem for super fã como eu, certeza que irá se emocionar . Bom passeio, aproveite o máximo Ah não vá no inverno, muita subida, serração, neblina e neve , local difícil pata essa época. Bom passeio , curtam muito Obrigada a todos do Montain Lake Lodge , eu amei 🙏❤️"
