How wrong we were; Lathkil, originally The Miner's Arms (1828), is a delightful, cosy, and beautifully done up gem. Views of the dales, and of grazing sheep. Easy access to walking trails. Good food. Friendly hosts. Beware: steep steps to the guest rooms. Would definitely revisit. walking paths, and the hospitality. "

"This hotel is located in a beautiful old building with a gorgeous garden. The rooms are charming. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each day and the bar in the evening. Nice wine selection! Its a great locattion for visiting Chatsworth House and the beautful scenery of the Peak Distict."

"We had lovely hosts! The breakfast was delicious and we could've only wished to have stayed longer! The airline forgot our luggage and our hosts were most kind and helpful while getting things settled for the airline to deliver our bag. The place was warm and inviting, and was well kept! Next door was a pub with delicious food as well and very convenient. We could not recommend this place enough!"
