Very Nice condo but could use some cleaning

The condo is in a very nice location, itā€™s 2 minutes from fee different restaurants and shops. The only thing Iā€™d have to complain about was the cleanliness. The sheets had stains on them and the floor did not feel like it had been cleaned it had sand all over it. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

The unit is a small condo suitable that worked well for two travelers. There is one bedroom with a queen bed, and there is a set of bunk beds in the hallway that could be used by small children. The kitchen is well equipped and suitable for preparing full meals. The unit has a private balcony with an unobstructed view of the gulf, although it is too far away to hear the sound of the water and waves. Beach access is via a wood walkway and a trek through the dunes, and it is quite a hike to get to the water. There are two pools for the condo building, which received a lot of use by families staying in other units. Arrival and departure are facilitated by convenient elevators and numerous carts available in the lobby.

Great place to be!

Having on property access to the beach was great! The pools were a great asset for the children. We ate at two places on the island. Ordered in pizza on other nights. Time on the beach was even better with the rental of chairs and umbrella. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to spend many hours on the beach. The aquarium was a good adventure too.

quiet getaway

Perfect location to escape the hustle and bustle of a typical beach destination. The condo was clean, with a well stocked kitchen, ample space for us. We enjoyed the ocean view. Nice boardwalk to the beach. The local bike rental business delivered and picked up from the condo. With a paved bike path the entire length of the island the bikes were our transportation for several days. We enjoyed the "non chain" businesses. Ferry ride, Sea Lab aquarium and inland trip to Belligrath gardens added to the enjoyment.

Loved it!

This was my first time visiting Dauphin Island and I absolutely loved it!! It wasnā€™t too crowded or busy and this condo was close to all of the shops and restaurants. There arenā€™t a lot of restaurants there, but the ones that are there have good food. Be sure to stop at a Walmart before you get there because there isnā€™t one close. My condo was exactly as described and was perfect for me and my husband. Our check in was super easy, and we didnā€™t have any issues the whole time we were there. The view was nice and the short walk to the beach was great!! I will definitely be back!

Great Location and Beautiful View

The place was clean and had a great view of the ocean. My only suggestion is to send the email saying what you need to bring a few days before instead of the day you arrive. We had to make an unexpected stop to get more TP, trash bags, paper towels, and dish soap.

Enjoyable Stay

The stay was very nice, the walk to the beach was a bit too long but we managed. We did have issues with getting into our room upon check-in but the manager came and rectified the issue within 20 minutes of calling. The only negative thing I will say was the television in the bedroom would not work- an odd screen kept popping up so we weren't able to watch anything on it.

Great Stay at Beach

Very clean unit, management was fantastic and Jeff was awesome. The unit needs new living room furniture and the master bed needs to be replaced. Everything else was just super and the island is in great shape. Great for family vacation at the beach.

Outdated and smelly

When we entered the condo there was an awful odor inside. It smelled like it had just been opened from sitting all winter. Luckily I brought air freshener with us! The couch was so uncomfortable that we lifted the cushions to see if it was a sleeper. Apparently the springs were broken so there was a piece of plywood laying over what use to be the springs. The second night we went out to eat and when we returned, the code for the locked gate into the parking area had been changed and no one told us. We had to finally call the front desk and explain and then we finally got a new entry code. Overall stay was ok, but you would think if you're paying this much for a condo that at least the couch will be comfortable and it would smell clean??????????

Relaxing Stay

Great property, tastefully decorated, very clean, with a wonderful beach view. Kitchen was very well stocked with quality dishes, flatware, almost everything you could need. The overall building and property was very well maintained with a friendly staff. As far as location, we enjoyed being in the middle part of the island within walking distance to a couple restaurants, public beach nearby. Only a short drive from Mobile. Would definitely stay again!

Very pretty location

Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night due to Hurricane Ida. We were told we would be issued a two night refund, just waiting on that to come through. The bunk beds were the most comfortable in the condo. The master bed was very uncomfortable as well as the pull out couch but the view made up for that. You have a water view from the front door and from the balcony. Itā€™s not a terrible walk to the beach but we brought a cart to haul our things. I was a little concerned about what looked like mold around the ceiling vents. That should probably be addressed and fixed. There are a ton of rules so we ended up not using any dishes or the grill since we didnā€™t want to do a lot of cleaning on vacation. We just ate out for every meal or used paper plates. 7/10 chance we stay here again. We loved that it wasnā€™t as crowded as gulf shores or orange beach, but the thought of being stranded on an island due to water covering the roads or the bridge being closed is a little scary.

Perfect stay!

This one-bedroom condo was perfect for me and my husband. The extra 1/2 bath came in very handy as any married couple will agree! We had plenty of linens and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need and more. The entire property was very clean. We loved having the pools in addition to such close access to the beach. We didn't interact with the staff since we arrived after hours, but the instructions for the parking lot gate and lockbox with our keys were clear and worked perfectly. We will definitely recommend this property to others and hope we have the opportunity to stay there again some time.

Relaxing family vacation

Visited the island for a week with my family of four. Overall it was a wonderful experience . No crowds , friendly people , and a lovely beach view from the balcony . Most days were spent either at beach or pool . The sea lab was a nice afternoon activity . We also took the ferry for a day at Gulf Shores . We quickly regretted that decision as Gulf Shores was extremely crowded and there was traffic. We were happy campers to be able to return back to Daughin Island . If you are looking for a relaxing getaway , no fuss , fresh air and beach time , this is the place ! The check out procedures were more strict than what we are used to . Of course we understand that procedures should be in place , but requiring that all dishes be washed and put up felt a bit extreme. Having said that, we still had a wonderful time and would gladly return !

Overall nice property.

Overall a nice though not exceptional property. As locations go on Dauphin Isle it is well located, is gated, and has a direct view of the clean, uncrowded beach and a pair of well maintained pools. The main bed was way too firm for comfort for us. I would suggest bringing your own pillows as the ones provided are very thin. Our teen thought the bunk bed was very comfortable though. Unrelated to the condo itself, be prepared for a surprisingly close view of several off shore oil rigs, and a serious lack of even average, let alone good food on the island.
