Springfield is well positioned for exploring the adjoining area and the popular beach at Sandyhills is only about a five and a half mile drive, as are the popular seaside villages of Kippford and Rockcliffe providing easy access to the Solway Coast walks and also water sport facilities. The area is a mecca for those looking for outdoor pursuits with numerous golf courses including an eighteen hole links championship course at Southerness and local riding stables offer hacks and schooling.
