"I walked into this house and was met with a musty moldy smell, AC was off, and instantly knew the air quality would be a problem for us. This is an old house in a questionable neighborhood. The air filter was very dirty. I reached out to the contact I had and she said she would try see if her maintenance person was still in town to change out the air filter. I never heard anything from her again. We got up early and left as soon as we could because we both slept badly and felt sick the following...

"Respite was used as a hub to places we could walk to…it was hot but that’s not your fault. We were close to most to places we wanted to visit. We ate breakfast there at most days…delicious. Great staff. A lot of help to find our way around. At night we ate at wonderful restaurants, never the same twice."

"This listing is very accurate. The property is in a great location and has all the amenities and comforts of home. The host was very responsive and great about notifying us regarding inclement weather during our stay. The outside seating and fire pit made our stay even more enjoyable. We would love to stay here again if we have the opportunity."

"This was a clean and tidy place that fit my group of three perfectly. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfy and clean, the bathrooms were spotless and had a fun emirror. It was easy to get around. The host was gracious with my many questions and allowed us to get in when we showed up unexpectedly early. We enjoyed the side porch for chilling together and drinking tea. I would reccommend the stay in Metropolis."

"We needed a 1 night stay, got in late. Great house and it was clean. The only comment I would say and they are very minor is, there was no light outside and it was very dark. Also, the rug at the front door both inside and out, had no grip so we slid around a bit."
