"Quaint cottage with personal touches. Hosts were very nice. The ceiling in the bedroom is low so watch your head. A nice retreat."

"It was lovely to be just 2 miles from Mendocino, with views of the Ocean and having a full cottage with kitchen and dining table. Fairly rustic, not luxury in any means but great value for the price. Careful, the Rose Garden cottage is not a 2 bedrooms cottage. It can sleep 4 but the entire space is open (bedroom has no door) and has large opening to the living room where the sofabed is for the other 2 guests."

"This was a wonderful “cottage“ feel cabin. Beautifully appointed, well equipped with air-conditioning, heating, television, and a coffee maker. Quiet little neighborhood where perhaps the most rewarding experience was getting to know the alpacas in the backyard. We can’t wait to return."

"Valerie was a great host, very welcoming and friendly. Really enjoyed, and needed, the breakfast foods she provided, since it was raining when we got there and didn’t have time to go to the store. Eggs, coffee, creamer, yogurt, pastries, were all wonderful. The neighborhood is cute, with a dog park and stores near by. We visited The City of 10,000 Buddha’s, which we enjoyed very much. If you are traveling with a dog, this place is perfect."

"Can't recommend this place enough! It's located in a great neighborhood that felt safe and comfortable anytime of day/night. Lovely views of arcata from the yard and a short walk up the road to the community forest. We've stayed here multiple times and will continue to use Baxters for future visits. "
