Welcome to the Humilitas Palace. I am Dora.

You are in the lobby of a historic palace built on a farmhouse from the 1500s, parts of the plasterwork from that period remain. But later , in 1921, m, it was bought and remodeled by a local noble family. The owner, who was the town doctor, transformed it into a noble palace. It was accessed here by buggy , signs of which still remain on the floor at the time, and by car.

The splendid columns of white local stone , the iron railings and the lamps on the staircase testify to the full Art Nouveau style.

The suite , which is your room bears the Latin name for kiss, Basium.

For you a mini bar and a coffee pot , and our almond cookies , typical of Salento. The room , with manual blackout curtains on the door and chain curtains on the windows. To lower them lift up the cord and pull

The room overlooks the ancient garden surrounded by bamboo canes, also dating back to the year the palace was built .

The garden consists of a small orange grove, and a patio with an outdoor shower and a bathtub , made with an ancient local technique, earthenware that gives the tub its marble appearance.

Before use it simply rinses with the rubber hose you will find nearby , first removing the bamboo leaves, and then stops.

At check in, should you not be able to join you in person you will be given an access code that you will type from the box next to the intercom, which will automatically self-destruct after opening.
