With a private pool, hot tub, screened porch, and sweeping ocean views from three levels of wraparound decking, this lovingly cared-for home has everything your family needs to truly unwind.
A 4-wheel drive vehicle is required to reach Summer Paws — and that's exactly what makes Carova so special. No traffic, no crowds, just wide open Atlantic shoreline, star-filled skies, and the famous Corolla wild horses that frequently wander past the house. Summer Paws sits approximately 9 miles up the 4x4 beach — one of the most secluded and peaceful locations on the entire Outer Banks.
The Home
Spread across three stories with 1,536 square feet, Summer Paws sleeps up to 7 guests comfortably across three bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Two queen bedrooms offer comfortable retreats, while the third bedroom features a fun duo-bunk with a double bottom bunk and twin top — perfect for kids. Flat screen TVs in every bedroom and the living room keep everyone entertained on rainy days, and the fully stocked kitchen means you're ready to cook from day one.
Outside
The outdoor spaces are where Summer Paws truly shines. Watch wild horses and abundant wildlife from the private screened porch, stargaze from the hot tub, or cool off in the private pool (open late May through end of September). Three levels of decking provide stunning ocean views at every turn, with outdoor furniture, a charcoal grill, outdoor shower, and five beach chairs included. Two beach parking passes are provided.
Pets Welcome
Summer Paws is dog friendly — up to two dogs considered depending on age, weight, and breed. A per-pet fee and refundable security deposit apply. No cats please.
Short Stays Available
Three-night minimum stays are available in spring and fall — perfect for a quick getaway to the 4x4 beach!
Sunday check-in. Linens and towels provided. No smoking. Fireplace not available for guest use. No graduation groups or events. Free unlimited parking at the house.
