Crossing the bridge, overlooking the Albemarle Sound, you will find that you have left your cares and woes on the other side. Dare to "Beach Dreams", a beautiful property located in the Ocean Sands Subdivision just overflowing with many conveniences. This home is close to two supermarkets, Timbuck ll Shopping Center, The Currituck Lighthouse, The Whalehead Club & Museum, Wild Horse Tours and Coastal Kayak Adventures.

Drink up the warm sun as you sit peacefully on the top sun decks; experience the cool sand as the water races over your toes. Sit back and relax in the hot tub with your favorite beverage, rack up a game of billiards, or just lazily float in the pool.

Property Bedding: 2 Kings, 2 Queens, 2 Sets of Bunks (one with trundle), 1 Queen Sleeper Sofa.

The place is falling apart.

I’ve stayed in outer banks before and had wonderful experiences. This property is a mess. I’m hoping there is a place in this review to add photos. First of all, the hot tub was green and smelled like a fish tank. They did come fix it after a day but they made the comment they don’t treat it when it rains. The pool was nice but looks much larger in photos. It’s actually pretty narrow. Everything in the house was falling apart. The washer only worked half the time. The dryer made a horrendous noise and burnt all of my daughter and my sisters clothes and bathing suites. All the smoke alarms were beeping. The blender was broken. The couch smelled like feet. Carpet on the stairs desperately needed replaced. The worst part was the bikes. My brother in law had to put air in all of the tires. They had rust on them. The tires fell off one of them. Another bike completely fell apart while my son was on it and he took a very nasty spill resulting in road rash and very deep abrasions that kept him out of the pool and ocean the rest of the week. The blankets in the closet were dirty. The mattresses in the bunk bed and lower part of the home were terribly uncomfortable. For the price, I do not recommend this place.

We had a great time together staying a week at Beach Dreams. The kitchen was a little small for a group of 13. We loved the pool & short walk to the beach. Overall our stay was wonderful & we would definitely stay here again.

House was nice, property management TERRIBLE

DO NOT USE! We checked in Saturday evening, took a quick look around and was happy with things. After we put all groceries away, got settled and we’re about to head to bed, the smoke detector started chirping. I called the office and had to leave a message. We found some batteries in the hutch and changed the smoke alarm. Fine. Sunday morning the office called and asked if they could send out maintenance to change the battery. I told her we changed it last night, couldn’t sleep with the beeping/chirping. They called right back and said that someone was coming to service the washer and dryer either Monday or Tuesday, it wasn’t working properly and wanted to make sure it was ok if they came in while we were not there. Of course!!! Tuesday night I started a load of laundry, it pulled steamy hot water while the setting was on cool and stopped working. I again called. Oops! We need a appliance repair technician. Should be there by Thursday. I had to call to check status and everything was later, later. While out and about I stopped by the office Thursday and Kaitlyn was SO rude!!!!!! I’ve been patient and kind and her energy was so incredibly repulsive! Having a washer in a house of 9 people is a necessity, like having a working fridge! When I asked about a refund or credit from Megan or to speak to a manager, no one could be bothered to call me back. I had 2 in my party to leave early because they ran out of clothes. I was told Friday night no refund would be given.

Overall Good Experience

Overall, we had a good experience. The house was clean, and we were able to get in early. It was plenty spacious for our group. The management company was helpful and responsive whenever we had questions. The couches and beds could use an upgrade as they were very saggy. Almost all the bikes had flat tires or otherwise didn’t work, so were not useful. The outdoor area near the pool wasn’t very kept – cobwebs and weeds growing made it feel the area doesn’t get a lot of attention. None of the areas of improvement ruined our good time. The location was great, just a few minutes to activities and shopping, even in the quieter northern section of the island. We would return to this house.

Nice location

The house is in a nice community and convenient to shops and restaurants, with a 5 minute walk to the beach. The house is pretty much as represented and includes many amenities such as beach chairs and almost everything you’d need for the kitchen. We had a little problem with bugs, but the property manager sent exterminators out quickly. Overall, we had a very nice stay.

Enjoyed this rental

Property worked out great for our group of 13. Plenty of room. Pool and hot tub helped entertain the kids while not at the beach. Was cleaned up to expectations, was able to get in more than an hour early. Only issue was lack of provided towels, not enough for our group.

Great House in the Outer Banks

House had everything you needed. Pool and hot tub were a highlight. Also had corn hole, beach chairs, and plenty of accessories through out the house. Great location within walking distance to beach and 5 minute drive to grocery store.

property has a great location. added bonus that linen is included. house interior needs a good cleaning and updating but it is OK. Pool deck has beach buckets full of cigar butts and buckets of used charcoal ash. just over all dirty. area where bikes and beach chairs are kept same thing, dirty. a lot of money to rent but poor up keep. even the old reviews say the same thing, poor up keep. we were late renting so we didnt have a lot of choices. Would not rent this place again.

Ocean Sands Vacation

Ocean Sands was a great place to have our family vacation. The amenities were as listed. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of dishes, pots and pans, etc. The upper level had lots of space for family gatherings and meals! The pool and hot tub were clean and very nice!

Better than the listing pics.

The property was nicer than is pictured in the listing. The house had a well equipped kitchen and there were many handy items to add to our enjoyment like bikes/carts/beach chairs etc. They were well used but made it so we didn't have to rent, so that was nice. I do wish the trees were cut away from the volleyball court. It was an attractive feature for our group but went unused as a result. Bathmats would also have been appreciated along with the towel and linens provided. Quick walk to the beach and short drive from everything. Nice place overall for our group.

There was plenty of space for the 12 of us to spread out. We utilized the pool, hot tub and pool table daily. Unfortunately the basketball hoop was broken and tree branches covered part of the sand volleyball court when we arrived, so neither was usable. The wagon, cart and beach chairs were great for our days at the beach. Shopping, restaurants and activities were only a 5 minute drive. The carpets and bedspreads need a good cleaning otherwise everything was great. The outside decks and seating made it nice to enjoy the sunrise, read a book or spend time together. We thoroughly enjoyed the Lighthouse bagels.

Neighbors had parties almost every night until 2:00 am.

Prior renters didn’t clean grill, left shrimp shells in grill. Also, fridge downstairs had shrimp juice which we cleaned out with bleach. They also left butt buckets filled with cigarette butts. We are non-smokers. Inside everything was perfect.

Great stay

Great beach house. Lots of fun things to do (pool, tiki bar, volley ball court, pool table, lots of toys!). Short walk to the beach. Cleaning crew could have done a little better of a job but not too bad.
