  • To access this luxurious 4-bedroom, 4.5-bath home in Carova, a 4x4 vehicle is required due to the absence of paved roads. Located 9 miles from the 4-wheel drive access on-ramp, "Running on Faith" offers a serene retreat in the exclusive 4x4 area of the Outer Banks. Start your day with a stunning sunrise from the king master suite on the third level, which includes deck access. The spacious great room, featuring breathtaking ocean views, is perfect for family gatherings. The well-equipped kitchen, complete with island seating, provides ample space for multiple cooks, and the gas grill on the third level deck eliminates the need to run up and down stairs. Enjoy your meals on the deck adjacent to the kitchen, savoring the evening breeze and the sound of the ocean.
    The second level boasts another king master bedroom with deck access, a queen master bedroom with deck access, and a double master twin bunk bedroom with deck access. This level also includes a full laundry room for your convenience. We had a wonderful stay. The house was beautiful and clean. The kids enjoyed the pool and it was a plus that it was just off the beach. The beach was a easy walk. We loved seeing the horses everyday too! Would stay again!

This is an amazing property, location and owner! Would highly recommend. Be prepared to drive the beach to access, but a great getaway away from crowds and the ability to experience the wild horses up close.

Host was great, communicated with us before and during the stay. I loved the grill that was good size and very clean. The pool and hot tub were also very clean. The beach was awesome and we saw a lot of wild horses. Be prepared for driving on the beach, the first time we didn’t reduce the air in the tires because we didn’t know where to do it. Overall a great house and great week!

Beautiful quiet setting

Wonderful stay, definitely off the beaten path, but close enough to enjoy the local towns without the crowds. Beautiful house, would stay again!

The Running On Faith home was exactly what we needed! The location of the home was perfect and the amenities were 10/10! Having a pool and hot tub was clutch for thise times you just wanted to lounge but still be within walking distance to the ocean. I will say that renting a 4x4 was well worth avoiding any headaches getting stuck (if you have never driven in sand don't leave it to chance AWD is not 4WD). Host was amazing throughout the whole stay and kept open communication which was a definite plus! Would stay here again and again!

This is a fabulous oceanfront home with every amenity one could possibly desire. The photographs are accurate; however, the property is even more amazing in person. The host's communication is top-notch, and in addition to the home having a perfect layout, it is immaculately and beautifully decorated. If you're on the fence, you should absolutely book this property. We hope to return one day - it is BY FAR the best beach home we have ever rented in North Carolina, and we usually rent an oceanfront home for at least one week each year. This property and the owner really could not improve a single thing - they are both five plus stars (out of five) all the way!

The home is beautiful and my family had a wonderful time. Our kids loved the pool and easy walk to the beach. The home has a really nice kitchen and deck that over looks the pool and beach.

Quite and relaxing place to stay.

If you are wanting a laid back vacation with beautiful scenery this place has it all. Great place to hang out with family. The home is very well equipped and Tim was very responsive and attentive. A beautiful location and we got to see numerous wild horses.

The house is absolutely incredible and a very nice place to stay. The homeowner is a joy to work with. The horses come right around the house and the ocean never disappoints! Hope to stay again!

Great ocean home away from himr

Running on Faith is a wonderful beach house with everything you could need in the kitchen, lots of hang out space, nice pool area and close proximity to the beach. The house was decorated beautifully and very clean. The whole family enjoyed our time together here!

Carova Beach

The beach is beautiful. We were greeted by horses daily. We also saw dolphins near the property. It’s absolutely beautiful and the property owner is friendly and very helpful.

Beach Vacation

Having never driving on a beach before was a very precarious thing especially for my son & daughter but it made the memories of this vacation to last a lifetime. The home was perfect for what was needed ---relaxation

Relaxing getaway

Just got back from a one week stay at this beautiful property. It was two families who just wanted a week away at the beach and pool and we were not disapointed. The house, beach, pool and grounds were all as described and beyond. The host was amazing with communication and answered any of our needs that arose. I will definitely be back for future vacations.

Running on Faith - Our first stay on the 4x4.Wow, what an incredibly clean home, updated, comfortable beds, cozy open floor plan upstairs where everyone can gather while cooking or playing games! The morning coffee sits from the deck or the 2 chairs on the dunes, so relaxing. The wild horses that love to come under the house, if you forget to put the horse net back up. Easiest walk over the dune or short drive to the beach made it wonderful for all of us but especially our kids, ages 7-16. The kitchen was fully equipped for anything we made! The ice machine and extra refrigerator were very much appreciated. Communication with the host was prompt and sincere. You can tell he loves and cares about his property. We did not want to leave but left with full hearts after a week of relaxing and making memories with family and friends. Thank you, Tim! 10/10 - we will be back!!

Great stay!

My family and I had an amazing time at this house! The house has a great open layout and everything was clean. The walk to the beach was short and the views were awesome from the house. We’d definitely stay here again! The drive to the house requires you to drive on the beach and it can get pretty bumpy, having an off road vehicle of some kind is definitely the best way to get to the house. If you have a vehicle that can get there, this is the place to stay!

Getaway from CT

The house was exactly as advertised. Extremely clean and well maintained. The pool was very clean and added a great experience for our kids. There was ample room for us and the decks added easy access the beach. Communication with the owner was incredible. Highly recommended.

Memories were made

My wife and I had a great time, the house was everything that we hoped it would be. The beach access, the sun rises were amazing. We loved everything about this outstanding property, and yes we will be back again. Oh and the wild horses are in the yard every day, we returned one day to find 4 of them sleeping in the shade under the cover of the carport. Amazing!

The Perfect Getaway

If you are looking for a place to relax, center, and reflect on the most important things in life—family, nature, jaw-dropping sunrises, and all of the other blessings we tend to take for granted, Running on Faith is for you! The home is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and stocked with all of the amenities you need. The best part is the owner—responsive, thoughtful, caring, and just…chill. This was one of the most memorable family vacations we have had!

This is a great location and a wonderful home for a family vacation. Great pool (also nice hot tub which we didn't use because the weather was so warm), walk to beach right over the dune, wild horses roam the neighborhood and beach areas, just a great overall location and good communication with the owner and answered all of our questions promptly. Lot of nice touches for the home, Sonos install the app on your phone and you can play tunes while in the house) , an ice maker on the lower level, and never had any issues with the wifi. Loved the deck, great area to hang out. The beach drive can seem intimidating at first, just remember to lower your tire pressure like all the signage/websites recommend and you'll be fine. Low tide is ideal for traversing back and forth to town but we never had any issues with high tide other then the one area near the home right on the beach (about half way) and it was a little water to drive through. Just remember to always keep your vehicle moving, don't stop in the soft sand when driving. Side excursion, the local volunteer fire department right down the road had hours T-TH during the day where they sell merchandise to support the department.

Want to stay forever

Perfect place to decompress and enjoy the beach, the daily parade of horses and weather. But even if the weather stinks the house and view is enough. Thanks Tim for addressing our issues quickly.

This is our second time renting this home and we have to say we love it. The location on Carova is perfect if you want to see more horses than people. lol. The owner is an excellent communicator and generally great guy. The home is well maintained and comes complete with any appliance or kitchen gadget you can think of. WiFi is also excellent. We will be back!
