![The Ocoee Whitewater Center, near Ducktown, Tennessee, United States, was the canoe slalom venue for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta,[1][2] and is the only in-river course to be used for Olympic slalom competition. A 1,640 foot (500 m) stretch of the Upper Ocoee River was narrowed by two-thirds to create the drops and eddies needed for a slalom course. Today, the course is watered only on summer weekends, 34 days a year, for use by guided rafts and private boaters. "It’s our third time staying as the location is perfectly situated for two events we go to in the same weekend. The room is very comfortable and there are several thoughtful touches by the owners. We travel with our dog and the fenced in yard is perfect. Our dog also loved the basket of dog toys to play with. Water pressure/temperature and WiFi all great. "

"This is a small, kind of older hotel but very clean and well kept. The lady that was working the desk was there all day but readily helped us and talked to us any time we needed it. The parking lot was nice and well lit and there were multiple ways to get in and out with the room key. The breakfast was very simple but there is a McDonald’s in walking distance. Our room was clean and quiet and we used the heat a little at night and it worked just fine."
