"All the antiques and each room had a different name and decor. We stayed in the Judges Chamber. The room was very small but great amenities like power packs to plug in USB cords. A Nespresso coffee maker with china cups and saucers. Glass wine and drinking glasses. The breakfast was awesome, once we got it. Breakfast isn’t available until 9 am. As seniors and early risers, we would have preferred 8am. We felt very sorry for the servers and manager as the Chef arrived about 20 minutes late. A...

"The restaurant is closed. There is no food. They don’t take cash. The rooms are basic the view is nice. The shower is horrible hardly any water pressure. This is supposed to be the place to be in Powell River but my family members stayed in way nicer hotel rooms for less expensive. The staff wasn’t friendly. Overall not what I was expecting. It’s not a bad hotel but it’s definitely not the best."

"The Rod has more character than anywhere else you will ever stay. The linens were all amazing, shower was wonderful, and it is super easy to get around if you have a car. Also had no problems with getting food delivered to my door. Found the fridge very useful as well as nice & cold!"

"This is a great example of glamping (glamorous camping) and if we were 20 years younger, it would have been a fun, quirky adventure. It is a tiny house experience with a lofted bed you reach by ladder and a remarkably effective port-a-potty kind of toilet. The location is amazing and the property is fun. Unfortunately for us, we’re not 20 years younger and the ladder ended up defeating me. If you’re flexible and athletic - give this a try! It’s a definite improvement over a tent "

"Great stay at these cabins. The cabins themselves are a bit tight but not noticeable when the weather is nice and warm. We are a family of 4, so the kids were sleeping on what was essentially a bench that was a bit wider than a couch. The bathroom and tub are excellent and the porch and spacing of the cabins is great. The location is very convent to get to all the popular destinations. We would definitely recommend this to friends and would return again."

"Had a great 3 night stay, the rooms have obviously gone through a renovation recently. The only downfall was low water pressure in the shower and the shower heads were too low for me. All rooms face the water for great views. A little easier beach access would be nice."
