"The stay was comfortable and the gardens lovely. The drinks and barstaff great, reception great and friendly with advice on sight seeing. The room was comfortable and clean. There was a broken window pane and the furnishings were dated. Bed comfortable. The food was disappointing. I had a seafood chowder which was pretty good and the fish tasted fresh. the main was a steak that looked pale and was not cooked with lots of fat and gristle, the vegetables were overcooked. The desert tasted OK but...

The only minor drawbacks were that the cooktop was not working (but we probably weren't planning on using it anyway). The coffee mugs were too large to fit in the one cup coffee maker. The chairs were too low to eat comfortably at the kitchen table. "
