"Lovely hotel, friendly staff and good sized rooms. However there was broken glass on the balcony, the bunkbeds for the children wobbled ridiculous everytime one of them moved and then in the morning my son found someone else’s socks under his pillow so clearly they hadn’t changed the beds from the last guests. I cannot believe a hotel can do that. It’s a real shame as the feel of the hotel was nice and it is in a beautiful location."

"Booked a double room but got a room with 3 single beds. Not the end of the world but not what I booked. Beds were uncomfortable. Mattress was really thin, when you sat on it you were basically sat on the bed base and when you laid on the bed you could feel the springs in your back and side. The walls were wafer thin, you can hear the tap running and toilet etc from the room next door. Also the water in the bathroom made a right racket when you ran the tap, shower or flushed the toilet. "Cottage was clean cosy and comfortable. It is about 15 mins drive to castle douglas. Owners live next door so easy to contact with minor issues. We were familiar with local area as visited frequently before."
