"We enjoyed staying at this traditional inn and meeting the lovely people who run it. It felt like such a genuine, honest, real place - somewhere we could relax and breathe easily, in contrast to the massive chain hotel we had just been staying in in Liverpool, where sheer numbers of guests led inevitably to a dehumanized, mass-produced feel. Here we were real people in a real place eating real food and sleeping in a real room with character and personality. The towels were folded into the shape...

"We had a lovely two night stay at Losehill. Ideally situated if you want to walk up Losehill or Mam Tor and Edale is a 20 minute bus ride away. The bus can be caught from the bottom of the lane. The service from every member of staff we encountered during our stay was outstanding. The food was excellent with amazing views as you eat."

"Clean and practical, surroundings are lovely and building architecture. Appreciated the upgraded room. Shower needs to be warmer and more powerful. Checkout time could be better. Some of the bedding is a little worn as well but on the whole a pleasant stay."

"We had a fabulous 1 night stay, room was beautiful, patio area was great too. Only negative feedback was no milk and only a coffee machine which was awful for tea drinkers as the water tastes like coffee still. Saying this however we would come back and just bring a kettle! :0)"

"Perfect location, plenty of space, the perfect comfort to relax after a day of walking with the kids. Click and collect tea in our pyjamas and we brought breakfast with us so relaxing in the room until we walk again! 😊"

"This is a great place to stay. Accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The food was amazing, and the staff were excellent. The views aren’t bad either! Will be definitely staying again!"

"Everything was perfect,all but 2 small points....The bed was slightly uncomfortable,due to being too soft/warn....and maybe being a little bit picky, But B&b was just a little too close to main road .... otherwise,a FANTASTIC place."

"Lovely stay. The staff was great! Everyone went out of their way to be kind and helpful, even helping when our plans to tour local sites got messed up by a very heavy winter storm that caused power outages. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a bit pricey, but excellent quality and our servers could not have been better. Breakfast every morning was delicious and, again, our server was lovely. Would recommend this hotel if touring Derbyshire area. "

"Perfect location for walking, as on bus route to beauty spots from which you can walk back. Brilliant to have plenty of parking and an exceptionally large apartment, recently refurbished, with all amenities. Only downside was staff made a lot of noise under my room until 1am. Otherwise ideal with reasonably priced food and open fires at the pub downstairs. "

"Plenty of safe parking next to the property. A grand building in a very pleasant setting on three bus routes with views across to Kinder Scout. A warm welcome, a lovely comfy room, generous tea/coffee/chokky in the room, a splendid shower and the breakfast options .... first class."

"Absolutely beautiful pub. We stayed overnight in a lovely room very comfortable and tastefully styled with plenty of hot water, coffee machine and radio too! Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the staff were polite and friendly. The village is beautiful, quiet and picturesque. We honestly can’t fault our stay at the Ashford Arms "
