I booked this stay last minute because I wanted to be in a diverse and welcoming part of Calgary, and this location in the southwest part of downtown was perfect. It’s in a prime area with lots to do—just three blocks from the Bow River and Prince’s Island Park, where there are weekend music festivals, events, and scenic walking trails.
The neighborhood is clean, safe, and has a nice blend of high-end condos, townhouses, restaurants, cafes, parks, and open space for scenic-walking along the river. The Neff building isn’t the fanciest, but it’s clean, quiet, and extremely accessible—with a public bus stop right out front, making it easy to get around the city.
The room itself isn’t luxurious, but it’s exactly what I needed: clean, dry, cozy, and functional. It has a hot shower, a small kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, stovetop, coffee maker, toaster, and a smart TV with free internet. The bed is warm and comfortable. I especially appreciated the dual-paned window, which helped block out noise and kept the room warm and peaceful.
The space is small but ideal for a solo traveler or couple. If you’re backpacking through Calgary or looking for a budget-friendly, safe, and centrally located place to stay, this is a great option. The host was also very responsive and helpful throughout my stay.
I believe long-term stays are available as well, which could be a plus if you’re in the city for an extended time.
