We stayed Aug. 28–30 for my mom’s birthday. The cabin is beautiful, spacious, has ample parking, and is near many activities, but the experience did not match the photos, reviews, or price. It looked clean initially, but there was an odor; hair, crumbs, and dirt in drawers; dirty dishes; and pots/pans with burned food and hair. Kitchen items were mismatched, oil had no lid, and only pepper was provided. We had to drive 30 minutes to buy cookware because some provided items were unusable. Some back doors would not lock, several bedroom ceiling fans did not work, beds were extremely hard/uncomfortable, some towels and furniture pillows appeared unclean, and games were missing pieces. Though advertised for 19, we felt 12–14 would be more comfortable, especially with only one upstairs bathroom for most sleeping areas. The cleaning fee was also frustrating because guests must start dishes, remove trash, and start laundry, with possible extra fees if tasks aren’t completed. Trash/dishes are understandable, but laundry should be housekeeping’s responsibility. Communication was poor: we requested the Wi-Fi code Friday and Saturday but never received it despite limited cell service. We sent our checkout message Sunday and received no response until days later. We made the best of the trip, but as the organizer, I was disappointed and embarrassed. The property has potential, but cleanliness, maintenance, communication, and guest preparation need improvement before we would return.
