Beautiful spot with a quick and comfortable house.

It was a great location to stay and a comfortable arrangement with everything you could need. AC or bug screens would make it a bit more livable for the hotter months.

A lovely beach getaway

We enjoyed beautiful weather during our week 6-13 May at Quarterdeck townhouse. Value for money with plenty of room for the whole family and so handy to Cylinder Beach and Deadman’s Beach. The whole townhouse was well appointed and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for a holiday. There was a leak of water in the ground floor bathroom. Ray Ehite at North Stradbroke responded straightaway and the leak was fixed promptly. It was the best holiday house we have ever rented at Straddie.

Good Location

House was good. No curtains upstairs, which meant it was cold on a cold day. Heater did not work, so we had to wrap in blankets. All else was good. Beds were comfortable and a good kitchen.

Quarterdeck

I have stayed in this property several times. It has been updated a little. I reported to the manager that the double bed moves across the room and could be quite dangerous. There are cockroaches. A lot of light bulbs have not been replaced. Second bedroom lamps not working. Curtains not adequate to cover window in second bedroom. I hope these things will be attended to as the property is quite expensive and should be better maintained.

Central location at Point Lookout

Pros: Great position within walking distance to Cylinder beach (patrolled) and Deadmans beach. Walk to General Store and pub. Quiet location. Very good hot water and pressure. Cons: Bedrooms and bathroom on 2nd floor, kitchen/living room on 1st floor Entry, laundry and 2nd bathroom on ground floor. Bathroom and kitchen clean but no attention to detail. We cleaned pots and pans and frypan on arrival as they were greasy and had food remains presumably from previous guests. The oven hadn’t been cleaned so we didn’t use it and the BBQ on the balcony is very old and we didn’t use that either. The curtains in the bedrooms need replacement as they are stained and don’t close properly. There is a large water stain on the lounge room ceiling from the bathroom above that’s in desperate need of repair but it looks like it’s been leaking for a long time. Garage cannot be accessed by anything other than a small car due to the turning circle needed to get it in.

Superb location

We really enjoyed our stay at Quarter Deck. It was just minutes walk to beautiful Deadman’s beach and had a great view of the ocean from the top deck. The only things that need attention are the windows. Some more screens would be good and an update for the curtains. Otherwise really well appointed and comfortable.
