From your unit door to the BreckConnect Gondola cabin, you never step outside. From the gondola, Peak 8 base is a short ride, and Peaks 7, 9, and 10 open up from there. Main Street Breckenridge — Hearthstone, Briar Rose, Empire Burger, the Riverwalk Center, Country Boy Mine tickets — is roughly a five-minute walk in the other direction. That combination of ski access and town access is unusual for a Breck condo at this price point, and it is the whole reason this unit exists on VRBO.

THE SPACE
This 2-bedroom, 2-bath suite sleeps up to 7 and lives large for its footprint. The open-concept great room centers on a stone gas fireplace with a mounted television above, alpine finishes, and a private balcony overlooking the heated indoor pool courtyard — a pool-view balcony that becomes an après-ski feature you don't expect until you use it. The fully equipped kitchen has granite counters, stainless-steel appliances, a full-size range, dishwasher, refrigerator with ice maker, coffee maker, blender, and cookware and dinnerware for the full guest count. Breakfast-bar seating for three; dining table for six. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed and a full bath directly adjacent. Bedroom 2 has a king bed and a second full bath. The living-room sofa sleeper accommodates additional guests without turning the room into a hallway. In-unit washer and dryer. Central heat. Cable television and Wi-Fi throughout.

WINTER SKI ACCESS
Mountain Thunder Lodge's private underground tunnel to the BreckConnect Gondola is the differentiator. You leave your unit in ski boots, take the elevator down, and walk climate-controlled to the gondola cabin — no crossing a street with a snowboard, no waiting for a shuttle. From the top of the gondola, Peak 8 base spreads out with the SuperConnect, Colorado SuperChair, and Rocky Mountain SuperChair feeding the mid-mountain terrain. Breckenridge is a 2,908-skiable-acre resort spanning Peaks 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, with the Imperial Express reaching 12,840 feet — the highest chairlift in North America. Epic Pass and IKON day tickets accepted. On snow days when the mountain is on wind hold, the town shuttle from the corner runs to Peak 9 base in minutes, and Copper Mountain is 25 minutes west on I-70. In-building ski storage keeps gear off your carpet.

THE LOCATION
Mountain Thunder Lodge sits at the north end of Park Avenue, one block from Main Street. Walk to dinner at Hearthstone, Briar Rose, Twist, Cabin Juice, Kenosha Steakhouse, Modis, and Aurum Food & Wine. Coffee at Cuppa Joe or Clint's. Groceries at City Market up the road. Winter events are within walking distance: Ullr Fest in January, the International Snow Sculpture Championships in late January, and the Christmas Market at Blue River Plaza on December weekends. Non-alpine days: Stephen C. West Ice Arena for skating, Country Boy Mine for a winter tour, the Breckenridge Nordic Center for cross-country and snowshoe trails, and dog-sledding through Alpine Adventures.

Winter concierge menu includes ski and snowboard rental delivery through Christy Sports or Charter Sports (rentals waiting at the unit when you arrive), private grocery pre-arrival, in-unit chef service, dinner reservations at the tables that book out weeks ahead, snowmobile tours, sleigh rides, dog-sledding, and lift-ticket pre-purchase. GUEST ACCESS
Entry is by keypad with your unique code delivered through the Gilson guest portal before arrival. No lockbox, no front-desk queue. Drive directly into the underground heated garage, park in your assigned space, take the elevator to your floor, and enter your unit with the code. The Gilson guest portal handles a brief pre-arrival ID verification and delivers your unit number, parking space number, Wi-Fi password, and tunnel directions. Late arrivals use the same code.

BEFORE YOU BOOK — WINTER NOTES
Primary renter must be 25 or older; ID verified through the Gilson guest portal. A $250 refundable security deposit is collected prior to arrival and released after checkout; a non-refundable Damage Waiver is offered as an alternative. No pets. No smoking anywhere on Mountain Thunder Lodge property. Breckenridge sits at ~9,600 feet — hydrate, ease into activity the first 24 hours. 4WD/AWD strongly recommended December through April; snow tires acceptable. One underground heated parking space included. Overflow paid parking at the Watson lot two blocks north.
