"The cottage was pristine, we felt like we were the first guests. It is a spacious, comfortable and stylish property and the owner’s attention to detail is second to none. Large beds and great showers. Very quiet at night so we slept well. Large private garden. Warcop is a lovely village with good walks along the river & streams. "We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Oak. The room was basic, but clean and adequate. The bed was comfortable. We ate dinner there as well and it was delicious. The breakfast was good. My husband got the full English and I got scrambled eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs seemed to be the rehydrated kind, but otherwise the meal was good. We would stay here again. "

"This is a beautifully appointed shepherd's hut on the edge of a pretty and quiet village in the North Pennines. Lots of walking routes nearby and just a few miles from Appleby-in-Westmoreland. We enjoyed our stay very much though were disappointed that the internet signal was so poor. The TV would not stream smoothly so not worth having it there at the moment. Still, this was a small sacrifice for the pleasure of experiencing tiny living life for a few days. Everything else worked really...

"We travel to appleby castle as often as possibly we luv the company of sally and her staff. It will be a shame for the castle to be sold its so relaxing and the staff are down to earth which is what we like as a group. "

"Lovely hotel and staff, pool very nice. Room disappointing. Building works going on throughout the hotel which wasn’t made clear at booking. We were in a ‘family room’ which was essentially a meeting room converted on the ground floor. The only radiator in such a large room was around half a meter from my head when in bed, the chosen location very uncomfortable and I therefore did not sleep well at all.
