"Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business. "The staff was excellent, shower didn’t drain well, beds were comfortable, there was no noise from the bar downstairs that we heard even though it was a Saturday night. Room was a little chilly when we went in. Would love to go back next year to see changes"

"Excellent atmosphere- very friendly towards dog- was very wet when we got there but there was a dog towel in hallway and dog bed in the room . Room very clean and unfussy. Hotel itself has a lovely comfortable cosy feel about it. Staff very attentive and food v good too! Would recommend! "

"Great stay for two night break on the coast to Coast trail. Staff was friendly and helpful. Friday nights are very loud with karaoke so be prepared! Food was good, but basic pub food. Breakfast had several choices and the avocado and poached egg was especially good. There's an awesome Indian restaurant called the mango tree just a few buildings down. Laundromat behind the Black Bull hotel which was very convenient. About 6 pounds to run the washer and one or two for the dryer. There's a tourist...
