Just a short, flat walk from the ferry in Snug Cove, the Palm Retreat House is a calm, beautifully remade island sanctuary where thoughtful design and attention to detail meets effortless comfort and convenience. Centrally located near Bowen Island's Snug Cove, and yet serene, this luxury two-bedroom home invites you to slow down, connect with nature, and discover the islands coasts, trails, and village at your own pace.

You’ll have complete privacy throughout your stay, with easy self check-in. As your Discover Bowen host, I’m always available by message and happy to share local tips, favourite walks, beaches, cafés, and island experiences, if and when you’d like them

Set in Deep Bay, one of the island’s most charming neighbourhoods, you are walking distance from the galleries, cafés and restaurants in Snug Cove village. Get there on foot via a beautiful trail with sweeping views of the Coastal Mountains and Howe Sound, or by car in just 3 minutes. The neighbourhood also boasts proximity to the Crippen Park trails, which network with Mt. Gardner and cross-island trails. It is also walking distance to our very own neighbourhood beach, Pebbly. Leave your car behind and explore on foot, or bring it along. There is ample, safe parking at the house and on the street.

Guests have exclusive use of the entire Palm Retreat House, including all indoor living spaces, the private garden and patio areas, and on-site parking. The home is entirely self-contained.

Step inside to a space that blends minimalist Zen-Boho aesthetics with warm and welcoming details—soft linens, sunlit rooms with high ceilings, and artfully considered spaces that feel both relaxed and refined. This is a home made for lingering over morning coffee on the porch or bistro style in the sunlit flowery gardens, and dinners around the elegant dining table with the modern doors opened wide to bring the outdoors in. The Palm Retreat House is perfect for couples seeking a peaceful retreat, families and friends craving connection with nature, or anyone desiring a beautiful base from which to explore the magic of Bowen Island.

The refined yet relaxed interior includes two thoughtfully curated bedrooms that can sleep up to five guests total in three beds. The king suite boasts a private entry, ensuite, and kitchenette, and the garden bedroom at the back the house features high ceilings, tall windows, and beautiful views of the garden. A full bathroom with tub and separate shower is right across the hall.

The home has an elegant dining room with seating around the glass table for up to 6 people. The cozy sunken living room invites conversation, meals, and cozy movie nights cuddled up on the sofas. The kitchen is fully equipped (coffee maker, kettle, oven, fridge/freezer, dinnerware, cooking equipment, etc.). We provide Ethical Bean medium roast coffee and a selection of black and herbal teas and sugar, olive oil, and basic spices and condiments.

In warmer months, enjoy coffee with your company by the pond on the large, plush outdoor sectional. Watch butterflies and hummingbirds dance through perennial plantings year-round. There's a big show of flowers in the spring and early summer, especially.

There is a local bus that passes through the loop. It is also walking distance to Snug Cove. There is dedicated parking and free street parking available as well if you choose to drive. We also welcome guests on bikes and can offer a ton of advice about road, gravel and mountain biking all over the island.
