Cabin on the Lake vacation rental home at Vallecito Lake Resort near Durango and Bayfield Colorado. As one of few waterfront vacation rentals, our guests can fish, canoe and kayak directly from this home.

This mountain home is in the heart of the Vallecito Lake Resort community located at the heart of the lake community, which is a very convenient location to all lake area activities including boating, fishing, water skiing, hiking, horseback riding, road cycling, mountain biking, motorcycle riding (dirt and street), hunting in the fall, snowmobiling and more.  There is also the ‘locals favorite’ cross country skiing trail along the Eastern edge of the lake, which is groomed all winter for both classic skiing and skate skiing.

The cabin is a very short drive or walk from the Vallecito Lake Marina, which is the main access point for boating and fishing activities at Vallecito Lake.  The location is just far enough away from this activity hub to be quiet and peaceful, but so close that coming and going from the marina area is quick and easy. Appx 25 miles to downtown Durango and 50 miles to Purgatory Ski Resort.

The rustic, comfortable, relaxed cabin-style home is situated in a rare, waterfront ‘pocket’ neighborhood with a few other homes and cabins nearby. There is a propane grill at the cabin for guest use.

The town of Bayfield, Colorado is about a 25 minute drive and Durango is about a 35 minute drive through the beautiful, picturesque Florida River Valley.

Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer
travel insurance.
