Tucked away in the village of South Hiendley, this cosy, newly converted detached studio annex offers a comfortable base for up to four guests. Set within the grounds of a charming 1600s cottage (which may be let separately), the annex is accessed via a private rustic track and is well placed for easy access to the market towns of Barnsley, Wakefield and Pontefract.
Guests choose this retreat for its blend of privacy and convenience: you have the entire annex to yourselves, a simple self check-in, and everything you need for relaxed stays, from a well-equipped open-plan kitchen to comfortable lounging space. It is also pet-friendly, making it a practical option for trips with your dog.

After a day out exploring West and South Yorkshire, settle into the lounge area for a quiet evening with the TV and comfortable seating. The open-plan layout makes it easy to cook, eat and socialise together, whether you are enjoying a quick breakfast at the bar or winding down after a day of local walks.
The layout Arrival and access • Access is via a private rustic track. Please take care in poor weather and drive slowly on arrival and departure. • Parking is free on the shared driveway. The driveway and parking area are shared with the main house.

Location South Hiendley is a small village in the City of Wakefield area, close to Barnsley, with a countryside feel and straightforward road access for exploring the wider region. For essentials, there is a convenience store in the village, along with a local pub and day-to-day services including a GP surgery. If you enjoy the outdoors, the area is well placed for local walks and short drives to parks and green spaces, with Hemsworth Water Park and Playworld noted as a popular nearby spot for fresh air and lakeside time.
Getting around is easiest by car, especially as the annex is reached via a private rustic track. Buses run through South Hiendley, including services towards Wakefield and Hemsworth (195/195A) and towards Barnsley (198). The nearest rail option is Fitzwilliam station (around 2 miles away), with regular services towards Leeds and Wakefield, plus routes towards Doncaster and Sheffield. Typical drive times (approximate) include: Barnsley around 10 to 15 minutes, Pontefract around 15 minutes, and Leeds Bradford Airport around 45 to 50 minutes by car (about 26 to 27 miles).

Booking policy Booking Policy Full payment is due 30 days before arrival and will be automatically charged to the card on file. If payment fails, it must be completed within 24 hours or the booking will be cancelled. Early payment is allowed; card fees up to 3 percent are non-refundable if cancelled.
Guests are not required to pay a damage deposit in advance. However, we reserve the right to charge up to two hundred pounds per stay to the card on file in the event of any damage.
