  • Stay in this NEWLY RENOVATED one bedroom end unit in building 1, just a brief walk to two slopes of Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. In the master bedroom you will find a luxurious queen bed and wall mounted flat screen smart TV. The living room is comfortable & cozy with a wood burning fireplace, queen sleeper sofa, and smart TV too. There are built in bunk beds in the hall for those under 5 feet. The fully equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances; a dishwasher, over the range microwave, range and fridge, disposal, gorgeous quartz counter tops, and extra under cabinet lighting. Enjoy a nice view of the tennis court and beautiful mountains from your private balcony. The new clubhouse is complete and conveniently next door with an indoor heated pool, hot tub, sauna, & fitness room. The property also has FREE WI-FI, laundry facilities, tennis courts and outdoor grilling areas for guests to enjoy. Come stay with us in the mountains!

Near slopes, great for family of 4

Really nice location and easy communication. Lots of extra linen, my kids ended up using extra flat sheets as they don’t like heavy comforters. Kitchen is very nice and clean. We had dinners at home after full day of skiing. Can see slopes from the balcony!

Not ski in ski out

I get that weather can not be controlled but communication about the ski lift not having snow can. Also $500 cash deposit is ridiculous. Every place in the civilized world lets you put deposit on a credit card.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First stay at Sugar. Location at top of Oma’s Meadow was very nice for ski in ski out with a 4 minute walk from Building 1. Basic amenities like pots for meal prep and hangers in the closet were lacking. Condo was not clean, especially from the baseboards to 3 feet up the wall.

My only complaint was the stove didn't work. It's entirely possible I lack the mental faculties to turn it on, but it was frustrating nonetheless. They need to finish that construction on the office as well. That has been going on for some time now.

Great week escape to the incredible Applachian mountains

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: What makes Sugar Ski unique is the combination of its very convenient location and its peace and quiet. Most places have only one or the other. The unit we stayed is in is small and needs renovation, but it is clean, cozy, has an outstanding long-range view, and is incredibly quiet. We loved taking the short walk to the ski slopes where we could then hike up to the top of the mountain and watch the sunset. We took day hikes on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest, Roan Mountain, and the Applachian Trail. All are short drives from Sugar. Plenty of shopping available just down the mountain in Banner Elk and Tynecastle. We will be back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Traditional ski lodge experience. Awesome heated pool under an "igloo" designed canopy. The view in our room was bad . But we made last minute reservations. Others had beautiful views. All necessary kitchen items were provided. It was clean. Climbing the stairs got very tedious over and over . I wouldn't recommend my floor to anyone older or with mobility issues. Overall very good experience for me and my 2 sons to go skiing for the weekend.
