The Space:

Welcome to the Dutch Creek A-Frame, a fully renovated mountain retreat with plenty of room to relax, recharge, and enjoy the High Country.



The main level is the heart of the home, with classic A-frame character, a cozy living area, and an indoor fireplace for evenings spent unwinding after a day of exploring. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for meals at home, whether you're making a quick breakfast before hitting the trail or settling in for dinner with the whole crew.



The main-level bedroom features a queen bed with a full bathroom nearby. Upstairs, the open loft overlooks the living area and features a king bed tucked beneath the A-frame roof—a cozy and unique sleeping space with a great view of the home below.



Downstairs, the second private bedroom offers a king bed and its own full bathroom, giving guests a little extra privacy and space to spread out.



Outside is where Dutch Creek really shines. Start the morning with coffee in the fresh mountain air, spend the evening around the fire pit, or end a day of hiking or skiing with a soak in the private hot tub.



Best of all, you don't have to drive anywhere to start exploring. The property sits at the private Bear Paw Trail entrance with direct access to public trail—just step outside, lace up your hiking boots, and go.



The home also includes high-speed Wi-Fi, a dedicated workspace, washer and dryer, outdoor seating, and a private entrance. Whether you're here for the trails, ski slopes, fall colors, or simply a few quiet days in the mountains, Dutch Creek makes an easy home base for your Banner Elk getaway.



Guest Access:

As our guest, you have full private access to the entire Dutch Creek A-Frame house. Free parking is available on the premises for your convenience.



The Neighborhood:

Tucked into a peaceful mountain setting just outside Banner Elk, this Aframe offers a quiet place to unwind while keeping you close to the best of the High Country.



One of the highlights of the neighborhood is direct access to the Bear Paw Trail, with the private entrance located right at the property. Spend the morning hiking from your doorstep, then head into Banner Elk for local restaurants, shops, breweries, and seasonal events.



You'll enjoy the privacy and slower pace of a mountain neighborhood without feeling far removed from everything you came to the High Country to experience.



Getting Around:

Winter Weather & Mountain Travel Notice



During the winter months, weather conditions in Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, and Sugar Mountain can be unpredictable. Snow, ice, high winds, and rapidly changing road conditions are common and should be expected when traveling to and from the property.



For your safety and ease of travel, we strongly recommend arriving in a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle during winter months. Snow chains may also be necessary depending on conditions. Guests are responsible for monitoring weather forecasts, road conditions, and state travel advisories prior to departure and during travel.



We strongly recommend planning your arrival for around 4:00 PM while daylight is still available. Mountain roads can become significantly more difficult to navigate after dark, especially during or after winter weather events.



While we make reasonable efforts to clear driveways and walkways, snow removal is not guaranteed, especially during active snowfall or severe weather conditions. Natural snowfall may accumulate faster than it can be safely cleared. Snow shovels are provided for guest use so you can clear additional accumulation to your preference.



Mountain travel may be slower than expected, and road closures or delays can occur without notice. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip investment in case of weather-related travel interruptions.



Please note that winter weather, road conditions, flight cancellations, or travel delays are not valid reasons for refunds, date changes, or cancellations outside of the listing’s stated cancellation policy. By booking this property, you acknowledge the inherent risks of winter mountain travel and accept responsibility for arriving safely and prepared.



Other Things to Note:

Check-in is after 4 PM and checkout is by 11 AM. Smoking is not allowed inside the home and must not leave traces outside. Do not leave trash or food outdoors as it can attract wildlife. Parties and gatherings above the posted occupancy are not allowed. Please keep outside noise respectful. Guests must be prepared for winter weather conditions, and no refunds are issued for lack of preparation. Any damage from intentional actions is the guest's responsibility. The host is not responsible for items left in the home.



This property has an exterior security camera for guest safety this camera records 24/7 when motion is detected. This camera faces the exterior parking area only, no other cameras are on site.



Coolbnbs, the property owner, and approved contractors or service providers may access the property during a guest stay when needed for maintenance, repairs, inspections, appraisals, pest treatments, pool or hot tub service, lawn care, or other standard professional appointments related to the care, safety, or operation of the property.

Guests will be notified in advance whenever reasonably possible, except in the case of an emergency or urgent property-related matter. Guest approval is not required for necessary property access, and no refund, credit, discount, or other compensation will be provided due to Coolbnbs, the owner, or approved service providers entering the property during a stay.
