"We spent a single night at The Black Horse, following a memorial for a friend at the same venue. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the food at the memorial, as well as our evening meal. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. "Stayed here over the bank holiday as a family of 4. The hotel itself is nice and the outside space is green and relaxing. However, we were given a very hot top-floor room during 28°C weather, with no air conditioning and windows that barely opened. The fan provided did not help and none of us could sleep. "There was nowhere to eat. We walked into the hotel restaurant at around 6pm. The restaurant was almost empty, but were told they can’t serve us as we didn’t have a reservation. We asked if we can get room service we weee told no. We asked if we can eat at the outside terrace bar, we were told that was closed. We told staff repeatedly the restaurant next door on the promaenade was no longer serving dinner and we would like to have dinner at the restaurant. We were told we should walk around 10...

"Great location. Inflexible menu on the day so had to eat elsewhere no accommodation La were made for us. Clean room But many hairs in the bedding inbetween mattress protector or bottom sheet. Attention to detail would be worthwhile and signs on other guests doors to ask them to be mind full not letting doors slam in the morning would be helpful."

"The hotel was very clean and had modern facilities with clean fresh towels and toiletries provided, the bed was comfortable and the room very clean. The bar and dinning area have been refurbished but have been styled in a retro vibe which added to the experience, there was good choice for breakfast which was of a good standard, the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming, and we will certainly be staying there again."
