Jane's Creek Cottage ~ Affordable & Near Cal Poly Humboldt!

Jane's Creek Cottage is the perfect place to stay if looking for a quiet retreat while exploring the Redwoods or visiting Cal Poly Humboldt. Families will love staying here while visiting their Cal Poly student and will feel right at home. Start the day with coffee on the covered porch then walk or drive to the Redwoods, campus or downtown, all are just a short distance away. After a day of adventure guests will love returning to this charming retreat that feels like a restored farmhouse filled with both modern and vintage decor. The wide plank faux wood floors add to the country ambiance. Visit the Arcata Farmer's Market or wonderful gourmet, organic grocery stores, Wildberries or the Co-Op and return to cook a delicious meal in the fully stocked kitchen with a gas-stove. Don't feel like cooking then throw some local grass fed beef or fresh fish on the propane BBQ and dine al-fresco on the patio. Sorry, no dishwasher but plenty of dish and glassware provided.

Guests will enjoy a good night's sleep on the comfortable new Queen beds with high quality bedding. Enjoy the large walk-in shower after a day hiking trails in the nearby Arcata Community Forest. Then relax on the sectional sofa and watch a movie on the Smart T.V. with 200 channels. Free WiFi is included. Washer and dryer available for guest use in detached laundry room next door.

This cottage is on a quiet private property that is shared by two other residence and local wildlife, deer are frequently seen. The owner works on-site and offers guests complete privacy but is friendly and willing to tell you about his home and the local area. *Please help us be "good neighbors" by following quiet hours between 10 pm - 8 am, parking in designated spots and respecting the privacy of the other residents. ** Parking is limited to 2 vehicles maximum with additional visitor parking for 1 more car with prior approval.

Important Notes:

** Guest reserving home must be 25 years or older, be staying at the property the entire time and will be considered the responsible party for this booking.

** Upon completion of booking reservation guests will be required to sign a rental agreement agreeing to Trinidad Retreats rules and regulations.

** Sorry but this is not a pet friendly home, no exceptions.

Cute, clean, charming cottage with plenty of space, including a large kitchen. Well-stocked with what we needed (although no ice maker or cube trays). Good location, close to everything with easy access to US 101. A great home base for our time in the area!

Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and utensils. Had a coffee maker but no cream or sugar available so still had to go out to coffee in the morning. Otherwise the place was in good shape.

Loved the property! Only complaint was stains on pillow cases which made us question whether they had been washed and no hot water for second shower. I had to take a cold shower this morning. Ugh! Also would be nice if lotion was available since we flew to Arcata and didn’t bring. Other than that, an amazing experience!! Thank you!

Great Place!

Great location! The place was very clean and the whole process was easy. Very accurate description. It's nice and quiet. If we ever get back to the area we would love to stay there again. The communication was also timely. The owners seem to really care about the property.

Great location and amenities

Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the area. Close to downtown, the coast and the redwoods. Large kitchen for eating in but also close to many great restaurants if you want to eat out. Beds are comfortable as well!

Cozy, Clean, Comfortable Cottage a PERFECT Location!

We wanted to stay somewhere central during our road trip to the Redwoods. Arcata was perfect as the Humboldt Redwood State Park (Avenue of the Giants) is to the south and the Redwood National Park (Trees of Mystery) is to the north. Jane's Cottage jumped out at us with its quaint and classic decor. What a fantastic location! Arriving right before dark, it was easy to find (excellent directions and access instructions were provided by the host) and we were delighted with this wonderfully appointed home. It is exactly as described with extra touches throughout to make it exceptional. As frequent travelers, we notice things like good toilet paper, nice tissues, high quality sheets, bedding and comfortable mattresses, lots of blankets, bath towels and extra pillows. The kitchen was well-stocked and the house simply had everything we needed to snuggle in after a long day. It was close to the 101 highway and to the college with a privacy we adored. It was a little cold so we didn't get to sit on the back porch or in the courtyard, but what nice amenities to offer guests. We would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to avoid hotel hassles in a home away from your own.

I would absolutely stay here again!

The house was more than enough for two travelers. Very comfortable and quiet - I couldn’t hear my friend when she was in her room or other parts of the house. Some reviews mention freeway noise, and you can hear it, but it’s more like white noise and didn’t bother us at all. Location is close to everything. With access to the 101 it was an easy trip both North and South - and we explored both.We used a laptop for Netflix and Prime. The cord to hook up to the TV was already there.Plenty of room in the well equipped kitchen. We found everything we needed. You will need to bring your own coffee and bag of ice. The laundry room was well stocked.In short, no hassle and we LOVED it!

So Quaint!

My daughter and I were in town for a few days looking into Humboldt for the Fall semester. The location is about a 13 minute, nice walk to the university. The cottage is fully equipped and very comfortable. Decorated nicely and very clean. Hope was so kind and helpful. I highly recommend this property.

I stayed here with my husband and mother-in-law for my son’s graduation. We were all very impressed! It was well organized and taken care of. The beds were super comfortable. We met the owner and he was very friendly! I would love to stay here again!
