"Slightly odd stay. The hotel is down a little lane. I didn't realise that there was a charge for parking until I arrived. You need to ring a bell to get in to the hotel and then you get let it. As I arrived there were some people who thought they had a room booked but the person working there could not find it. I was then checked in and taken to my room. "Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. "When I turned on to the drive I was struck by the stunning tudor style building and grounds. I received a warm welcome from the friendly staff when I checked in, and clear directions on how to get to my room. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The decor was a little dated, but you could argue inkeeping for the period of the property. The grounds are stunning."

"Premises would be best described as Runmere MOTEL. The accommodation block is detatched and across the car park from main reception area. OK if you like US style Motel accommodation, I personally din't and would not have booked if I had been aware of this. Rooms are very basic, but adequate.
