We have the best views of the Lake and the Toronto skyline. This is also a very quiet neighborhood where families with young children reside. Absolutely NO PARTIES and quiet times must be respected - 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
We are literally a mile from Niagara Scenic parkway entrance and 10 min from Fort Niagara
* LAKESIDE (OUTDOOR) *
The Shining Waters lake house is on the lake shore and in the middle of a field. Be ready for some bugs. We don’t love them either but they sure love the lake as much as we do.
As with many homes on the lake, the unobstructed and amazing views are what you are coming for. That also means * NO FENCING *, so please use caution and always supervise the little ones, and maybe some of the big ones too ;)
* FISHING *
YES, you can fish from the yard or go down to the water and fish! We have seen Bass, Trout and Walleyes on the lake Ontario.
* SWIMMING *
Yes, you can swim in Lake Ontario behind the house. Of course, it is at your own risk. Lake Ontario is an ocean like lake with it’s own tides, currents and wind patterns depending on the weather. So we advise caution.
* Is there a Beach ? *
Depending on the tide, Pebble `Beach` is accessible. You will be able to get to the pebble beach by following the boat launch (right next to the patio facing the lake). Sometimes, high tide will have the water levels so high, you will not be able to see the pebble beach, but can access the water through the boat launch. The yard also has a sea wall down to the waters edge that is about 6-8 ft tall, but the large rocks are easily navigable. As usual, you can do this at your own risk, so extreme caution need to be exercised and little ones need to be supervised at all times
* TV REMOTE *
The pixies seems to have special affinity for these remotes and they go missing all the time. We recommend RemoteNOW smart phone app which can be used to control the TV. The Hisense’s RemoteNOW app, your smartphone becomes an extension of your Hisense TV, functioning as an extra remote control, for the ultimate convenience and connectivity. The Hisense RemoteNow app is free to download from the Goog!ePlay and Apple App Store now.
1. Open app store on your smartphone and search for the “Remote Now” app.
2. After installing, connect your phone to the local WiFi network.
3. Launch the Remote Now app on your smartphone.
4. Pair Smartphone and TV by selecting the Hisense Smart TV that is detected by the app.
5. You will see a PIN on your TV screen.
6. Enter PIN on your phone and tap on the “Pair” button.
* LANDSCAPING *
The landscapers will be working on lawn maintenance every Thursday (weather permitting). So if you are planning on lounging in the back yard, please take note.
* MAINTENANCE *
We renovated and updated everything we can. However, things do break and especially in a house with so much history. We will do everything to address any appliance breaking down, any water leaks and any other issues that come about as quickly as possible.
** Barbecue **
There is a propane fired Barbecue. The tools to barbecue will also be made available. However, the guests are responsible for cleaning it after use. While we make every effort to ensure it is usable, please be prepared to clean it before using it.
** FIREPLACE **
This is for decorative purpose only. Due to safety reasons the gas is turned off.
- NO PARTIES OR EVENTS
- NO SMOKING and no recreational or illegal drug use whatsoever on the property
- Please DON`T REARRANGE FURNITURE. It scratches the floor and it delays the cleaning crew (They are not furniture movers!). If the cleaning crew has to spend time putting furniture back, you will be charged a surcharge of $50
- Please treat our home and amenities with the same respect you would your own
- Please DRIVE SLOWLY and carefully on the access road as kids live and play in the neighborhood.
- Any evidence of smoke in the home after check out will be subject to a $1000 fine and any guests found to be partaking in illegal drug use while still inhabiting the home will be removed immediately, no refund will be issued and possible legal ramifications will ensue
- The garage and the hallway storage closet is locked and is not accessible to the guests
- Please respect the neighbors and their property boundaries.
- Please respect the quiet times and keep the noise levels to minimum after 10:00 PM.
- Repeated noise complaints will result in removal from property with no refund
- Please notify us of any extra house guests as they must be approved before staying- you may be charged an additional fee or, depending on the circumstances, we will enforce a removal from the property for all guests immediately without a refund
- As with many Lake Houses here the lake side of the property is not fenced. Only one side (with the neighbor) is fenced. There is a rock seawall and the edge is well marked with solar lights lining the perimeter
- There is plenty of space in front of and by the side of the driveway for kids and adults to play!
- As usual, PLEASE KEEP CONSTANT SUPERVISION OF YOUR LITTLE ONES - and maybe the not so little ones too ;) as you are near the water.
- Report damages and anything in non-working condition
- Please no food or drink in the bedrooms, guests will be liable to compensate host for any stains
- Please do not move furniture around. They are well placed and moving may damage the floor.
