"Its hidden in the heart of York, blink and you're in the Shambles. Its stressful if you're using a car, theres no parking lot near 3km, besides, they are really expensive. The hotel itself is pretty neat, quiet, clean, comfy but no air conditioner. Staff always smiling."

"We enjoyed a great 5 days at The Sands. The accommodation was spacious enough for the three of us (2 adults and a toddler). The kitchen is well equipped for self catering but there are plenty of restaurants and takeaways within close proximity. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was spotless. "Really welcoming staff on the reception desk and lovely bar/lounge area. We had just booked the standard room which had a modern en-suite, but the bedroom itself looked a bit tired (e.g. coating very worn on headboard). Hotel is well located and I would definitely stay again."
