Second Stay at This Very Special Place
Cold winds and rain during our annual birding getaway made coming home to the cozy fire, comfortable open spaces, tasteful coastal decor, fully equipped kitchen, hot shower with excellent water pressure, and gorgeous views over Follins Pond even more enticing. The weather didn't really permit much lounging outdoors on the decks and dock as we have enjoyed in the past, but we did manage to sneak in a little firepit time--so warming and restorative. The neighborhood is quiet and convenient to everything and our host is a delight and could not be more responsive. We're so happy to have found this slice of heaven and are already looking forward to Visit #3 next April.

Lovely peaceful house.
Sunset Cottage served us very well over the Christmas holiday. The house is cozy, comfortable and accurate to the photos. We were able to take advantage of a well appointed kitchen to cook Christmas dinner and enjoy the peace and quiet of the the area. Meg is very friendly and communicative. We hope to return in the future.

Beautiful cottage
This is an adorable house on the water. All the bedrooms are very spacious. The primary bedroom on the main floor has a fireplace and a sitting area overlooking the water. The bed in the upstairs bedroom is below a skylight so you can see the stars when lying in bed at night. The kitchen had everything we needed. The house was very clean, everything looked new, and there were an abundance of cozy blankets which were much appreciated during our November stay. The outside spaces have wonderful water views. There is a dining area, fire pit area, seating area overlooking the dock and the dock. The Gorey house in Yarmouth was worth visiting and there is a delightful new book/used book store just up the road. I would absolutely stay here again.

Another Wonderful Stay
This is our fourth time at Sunset Cottage but the first time in the fall. The view from every window is spectacular, if you enjoy water views. The cottage is well equipped and Meg the owner is very responsive. It is very conveniently located, just 10 minutes from Mayflower beach and several nice restaurants. We will be going back for a fifth time next summer.

Beautiful cottage
This was our 3rd stay at Sunset Cottage; it was even nicer than we remembered. The views of the lake from the picture windows, the outer dining table, the firepit sitting area and dock were amazing.

Cozy on Cape Cod
Had a wonderful stay at Sunset Cottage with the family. Excellent location on a nice sized pond with a beautiful view and lots of shade. The three bedrooms worked out great for everyone. Well furnished with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again. Meg is a great host and easy to coordinate with.

Wonderful stay at the sunset cottage!
What an amazing time our family had at Meg’s spectacular oasis on Follins Pond. The best of what the Cape has to offer wrapped up in an outstanding property with all the best conveniences including central air and great WiFi! The location with a floating dock on such a picturesque expanse of water was absolutely mesmerizing. The fire pit and outdoor table were a delightful bonus. The beds were beyond comfortable and everyone felt supremely rested. We LOVED every second of our stay. Meg was a fantastic host and our vacation was truly enhanced by staying at the sunset cottage. We would love to come back. Thank you SO much!

Long weekend in Yarmouthport
We loved our stay at Meg's place. The house is lovely, comfortable and very well equipped, it's location is great and communication with the host was smooth. We enjoyed amazing views of the pond while having our morning coffee on the dock and while having dinners on the deck.

Excellent home base for Cape Cod
This was our first trip to Cape Cod. This was a perfect place for our home base. Communication with Meg was absolutely wonderful. Very clean and the beds were so comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay here if we returned.

Refreshing Cape Escape
We loved our stay in this well-designed and furnished home. The floor plan is open and inviting, with an excellent ratio of private to public spaces (we were grandparents alone for two nights then joined by two adult children and their baby for the remainder). The outdoor deck complex functions as extra “rooms” for either solitude or conversation and we relished our evenings at the fire pit soaking in the waterfront view. The décor is tasteful and sets the mood without being kitschy or cluttered, and the kitchen was thoughtfully equipped with details such as sharp knives and dog bowls. The neighborhood was quiet and the mid-cape area is convenient to everything we like to do. We all left feeling restored (even the new parents!). Communication with the host was seamless, and we are already planning a return visit.

Peaceful Retreat
Sunset Cottage is a charming, peaceful retreat on Follins Pond. The property was clean and well appointed. Meg was very easy to work with and provided great suggestions on where to dine and play. Would highly recommend this property and hope to visit it again.

1st time on the cape
This was a family get away (5 adults)with my grown children and new grandson. We all fit comfortably the home was very comfortable and cozy we had a great time. This house is in a great location you won’t be disappointed. It is close to beaches , restaurant's and short drives to other towns. Meg is a great host and goes out of her way to accommodate you and very helpful in telling you about the area. She recommended a lunch spot in the town of sandwich “fisherman’s view”and it was the best spot! The food was so fresh, staff super friendly and views of water/ocean great 👍🏻 definitely a cap cod experience. Meg always gets back to you promptly . This was my first time using Vrbo and Meg made the experience so pleasant .

Splendid Sunsets
This was our second time renting this fantastic house on the water. We truly lucked out with sunny and warm weather this long November weekend. Meg, the owner, was quick to respond, and a pleasure to speak with. The house is as comfortable as it is lovely. Surrounded by nature with the sun shining in all day long through the glorious windows and sliders. We explored local beaches and ate at recommended restaurants. It was a memorable four night stay. We’d love to return.

Second Visit
This is the second year we have come to Suset Cottage. It is well equipped and beautifully decorated. The views and sunsets are gorgeous. Meg, the owner is very responsive. We had a small issue and a handyman fixed it within a couple of hours. We will be going back again next year.

Amazing location and amenities!
We loved our experience at this property. Although it rained most of our trip, the location and amenities certainly made up for it (fire places, grill when rain subsided). Peaceful property. We had four adults.. plenty of separate space. Well stocked kitchen. We would *highly* recommend.

Everything about this stay was perfect. The house is open, airy, light, and looks right over onto the water. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. There are wonderful walks nearby. And the host was incredibly responsive and helpful. Couldn't be better.

Very Comfortable With Lovely Views
We loved our stay here! The views are every bit as lovely as shown in the listing. It is a very comfortable, well furnished home with lots of light and good views of the pond, which is actually lake sized. The two patios are well situated to enjoy the view - we particularly liked the area with the firepit. The house is quite well equipped; we appreciated the wide variety of cooking utensils, as well as the outdoor grills. The location is central to many great areas on the Cape to visit, as well as to restaurants and to food markets. Potential renters should be aware that access to the loft bedroom is via a narrow spiral staircase, which worked out fine for us. Overall we were especially pleased to stay at this home, and would be happy to come back some day.

Sweet Spot on the Cape
Our stay at Sunset Cottage left us feeling like we really hit a sweet spot with this choice. Whether it was the initial ease of booking, the warm email follow-up from the owner, the thoughtfully curated home, the obvious effort to keep a busy house clean during the challenges of Covid, or the 7 days of Cape Cod bliss we had — this one comes up a big winner for us. While we had to do a little cleaning around the edges, the care and conscientiousness of the cleaning staff was evident, and we were happy to do our part to care for the home as if it were our own. From start to finish, the property offered a relaxing, picturesque, homey vacation experience, allowing us just the right balance of adventure and familiar routine. Our dogs were especially happy! We enjoyed swimming from the dock, kayaking on the pond, reading in the dappled sun on the deck, sipping cocktails while the sun set (this became something of a cottage ritual for us), and gathering with friends in the spacious and comfortable interior spaces. The owner provided excellent info about the house and nearby attractions. This location is a gem: quiet neighborhood, pondside views, nearby community amenities, and varied diversions just minutes away: beach walks, bike path, kite flying, quaint shopping, good food, bird watching, nature walks, local historical sites. Kudos to Meg for dialing in price, location, amenities and personable bespoke service from start to finish. Sunset Cottage hits a sweet spot on the Cape. We will be back ;-)

The house was very comfortable-plenty of little places for alone time and spacious enough for meals with family and friends. Kitchen was incredibly well equipped. We had one maintenance issue and Meg was immediately responsive. We look forward to renting from her again

Sunset Cottage
We were very lucky that the weather in November was spectacular for our three nights at Sunset Cottage. The house was sunlit, clean, airy and magical. The king bed on the first floor has an amazing mattress that hugs you through the night and is topped by a wonderful comforter. We had the best three nights sleep. Full cabinets of all the dishes and pans you would need and thick soft bath towels. We enjoyed the area and took walks and drives to nearby beaches. We watched a beautiful sunset our first night and didn't have to leave the house to see it! Thank you, Meg, for our memorable stay.

Charming waterfront home

The place for peaceful and tranquil vacaton
Property was all that we expected and more. Just as adervertised. Very clean, peaceful and tranquil. The view on the water was breathtaking, although it was raining it gave the perfect backdrop of mother nature in her many seasons is just simply beautiful. Meg was a wonderful host throughout out stay, never had to make contact while there due to the fact everything was perfect. We will definitely be back.

Perfect cottage on the water and Meg is the best!
Beautiful, cozy place right on the water. Meg was fantastic throughout the whole process. She's prompt, professional, and super nice. The inside of the cottage is so well done. Decorated wonderfully, comfy beds and linens, awesome kitchen with everything you could need. As a bonus, the location is great (perfect for day trips to the upper, lower, or outer cape, and close to the ferries for Martha's vineyard and Nantucket). What a way to spend a week on the Cape!

Beautiful house in a serene location
The house is spacious, has a modern touch but is at the same time very cozy. The location right on Swan Pond is exceptional. We enjoyed kayaking with seals following us along the way! The kitchen is pretty well equipped, we only missed cleaning cloths. We can definitely recommend this house for anyone who appreciates high-quality furniture, tasteful decoration and a serene location. We hope to come back one day!

Home sweet home at Sunset Cottage
Our stay at Sunset Cottage in Yarmouthport in Cape Cod was wonderful and felt as comfortable as being right at home. The cottage had stylish and comfortable features that you could want. Our host Meg was very helpful to our needs and made numerous suggestions to amenities, restaurants and things to do in Cape Cod. The cottage was very clean, with lots of kitchen equipment, linens, towels, supplies and other amenities. The lakefront landing is a bit murky at times after rainfall which makes it challenging to use the kayaks. However the outdoor patio table and chairs under the trees is nice. Would have preferred a propane BBQ rather than charcoal grill, which can be messy to discard the used briquettes. We had a great stay overall and would like to return again - don’t miss this hidden gem of Cape cod!

Wonderful Getaway For Wife's 60th Birthday
As a retired military officer, I have been all over the world, however, this was my first time in Cape Cod. My wife and I looked for weeks to find just the right listing and hit the bullseye with Meg and her lakefront sunset cottage. We reserved it almost a year before we went. During that time we had to alter the dates a bit and that was no problem at all. The communications were outstanding as Meg answered within hours of my emails to her. When we arrived at the cottage it was exactly like the pictures online (which were updated during the year) Even though there were only two of us, the cottage did not seem too big...in fact, it was just right for us. I took advantage of the kayak and was able to catch some bass in Follins Pond. We used the outdoor gas fireplace as well as the indoor gas fireplaces. The kitchen was fully stocked with every utensil or pan we could need. My wife has a fibromyalgia so sleeping in hotels can be problematic, however, the master bedroom bed was extremely comfortable and we slept great every night. The neighborhood was very quiet too. What we liked about the location is that it is in center of Cape Cod so we were central to anywhere we visited. One other point, in the year we waited for our trip, Meg remodeled the kitchen, bathroom and other areas so that the cottage was even more beautiful than it was when we first reserved it. Many people don't continually improve their property as Meg does so that was a welcome sight. All in all, one of our very best trips primarily due to where we stayed!

Staying here made me feel peaceful and happy
This house and surrounding property are both so beautiful. There are so many great things about this property . When you walk in you see the beautiful kitchen that has recently been updated. Everything is so beautiful inside. Meg (the owner) has thought of everything that can make your stay more pleasant. The two-story living room looks out over the water. The master bedroom is enormous and also has a sitting room that looks out over the water. The place is really special whichalso makes YOU feel special. We saw groups of swans in the water every day. We stayed during the winter and it was just as lovely as I believe it would be in the summer. There are still lots of things to do at the Cape in the winter and you avoid the crowds so it’s a win-win. I can’t say enough good things about this house and about Meg the owner.

It’s a little piece of heaven and home
The property is sited in such a beautiful location overlooking the lake. The cottage is so well-maintained ( if you go please take care of this place like it’s yours) and so charming and makes one feel at home.
