This summer was our 5th year staying here. I can't say enough amazing things about this home. The house has plenty of towels; a fully stocked kitchen; comfortable beds and lovely clean bedding; spacious, clean bedrooms and bathrooms. The views are unreal - I could sit outside and stare at the mountains all day. You'll feel completely private up at the house ... and you'll love being just a hop and a jump away from the lovely town of Woodstock. Goetz (owner) and Rachel (manager) are very attentive and wonderful people. Throughout our stay, we have friends and family over for memory-making country fun - the kids catch frogs in the pond and swim in the pool all day; the adults play bocce ball, lounge by the pool, and cook in the roomy kitchen; and we all get together for nights by the fire pit watching all of the meteor showers - coming from Manhattan, the number of stars is just astounding. There is plenty of space to entertain or hide away for quiet time. The spa house is a favorite for listening to music or reading. The kids go in there for crafts too. It's also a quiet place to hide if you have to sneak some work time in to your vacation (which my husband and I always do). We all love seeing the wildlife that visit regularly - hummingbirds, deer, wild turkeys, badger, butterflies, so many birds, bats. The kids collected huge bugs down by the pond that they thought were truly fascinating. You are less than 2 miles from town (<5 min drive) where there are ample markets for great fresh produce (SunFrost Farms and Sunflower Market), wonderful restaurants (we eat at Oriole 9, Shindig, Joshua's, Cucina, Catskill Mountain Pizza every year). This summer we fell in love with coffee and bagels at The Mud Club, and there is also Bread Alone for coffee, breads and pastries. A little further towards Saugerties you have the amazing Red Onion. Shopping is great too - Tinkey Toys Too and Woodstock Bring Your Own rival any of the amazing spots we have here in Manhattan. All in all, stay here. You won't be disappointed.
