This is a small mobile home at the end of a quiet street on a big lot. All the basic comforts are there along with a few nice extras such as a wood stove, wifi, and Netflix. It's very close to Alta Sierra Ski resort and worked out perfect for our ski trip.

For my wife and I this property was perfect. We loved the location. The location is safe, quiet and tranquil. The bed was comfortable, and we each had a great night's rest after exploring the Kernville area. Everything was great!

Go in the spring
We were not familiar with the area or even California weather. Was looking forward to the streams and swimming holes. Everything dries up in the summer! Our bad.😮 As far as the accomodations, it all depends on what you are used to. If you stay at less than Hotel 6, you'll be fine, but if your used to a Hampton Inn or better, look elsewhere. It is an old trailer that they fixed up. It just needs some work done on it which they said they were going to do. Had a great talk with Sharon? Not sure who I talked with. Very sympathetic to our misunderstanding.

Not what I expected
First I would like to say that is is an older manufactured home. It could use some TLC, some updates/repairs & an exterminator. Bedding & location were nice. We’re going back to the area in October…I will not choose this place again.

Great getaway!
Even though our stay there was short we loved it! Highlights was the fireplace, fire pit outside, the swing, horse shoes game, and access to the creek:) Would definitely stay again!

Summer retreat
Basic camp, good location overlooking town to enjoy Lake Isabella and Kern River, owner very attentive to maintenance. Deck and backyard are lovely hang out spots for small group.

ANOTHER WONDERFUL VACATION HERE
We have stayed here 4 - 5 times now, and it's always a great time. The house was clean, and all our needs were met. We enjoy coming here each year and relaxing away from LA. Our favorite part is the back deck, where we enjoy coffee in the morning, and a glass of wine in the evening after a busy day of adventure. Thanks again Sharon!

The Shirley Creek Retreat was definitely a treat 😊
We really had a good time and it was a good getaway , we cooked dinner the three nights we stayed on the fire pit grill , tossed a few horse shoes as well , over all it was wonderful for us and will probably do it again

Exceeded expectations
We came into this trip just looking for a a quiet place to get out of the city for a while, but it turned into an amazing experience and we ended up having the time of our lives. There is so much to do in the area, so many characters to meet, and such a relaxing ambience on the property. The house may not resemble a 5 star hotel, but it is a million times nicer than what we were expecting for the price. Comfy bed, nice kitchen, and breathtaking views. We will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful anniversary trip
We want to thank Sharon for letting us rent out this beautiful cabin. My boyfriend and I came up there for our anniversary and we loved every bit of the trip. The cabin made us feel at home. We loved the fact that the outside was close to a little lake with a great view, so we took pictures and had a couple drinks enjoying every moment. Thank you again Sharon, we will definitely be back!

Perfect Getaway for My Birthday in the Middle of a Pandemic
We always try to go up to the mountains for my birthday and we found this gem. It's such a quiet and private that we really enjoyed ourselves tremendously! All you hear are the creek, birds and the scuffling of squirrels around. We LOVE firepits and they had 2 to choose from! We cooked every meal for the 2-3 days we were there to avoid contact with other people and they have EVERYTHING you need. This place is FANTASTIC! The only comment we have is maybe slight upgrade to the place but it's definitely not a deal-breaker and we will be coming back! Thank you so much, Sharon!

Little bit of Paradise 🎄⛄
The property had everything we needed. We loved being able to step out into a backyard that led to the national forest. We had lots of fun as a family and were sad when it came time to leave for home. We got to visit lake Isabella and Kern River as well as the little town of Kernville. This really is a home away from home. We got visited multiple times by a family of reindeer that came to eat on the property. It was an amazing site to see. Amazing location in the middle of nature. Beautiful backyard with enough amenities for your family reunion. Host is great on communication. When I went - Sequoia National Forest was closed due to fires and I still had an excellent stay.

Great place for the price!
This was a very clean place in a nice location. It also had a great backyard and a massive deck, which was very nice. It's not fancy at all, but is clean and comfortable.

Such a fun place
Loved it , in such a great area had fun hiking around the house :) , it was cute an clean!!!only complaint i have is bed needs to be replaced , your can feel every spring , an one side sinks in, so If sharing the bed you an your husband will be cuddling all night lol , but besides that everything else was perfect !!! Wonderful Experience... again!
This is our second summer renting from Sharon. We had such a wonderful time. She goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need, so you can enjoy your getaway. We will be back again next year also. We spend our day at the lake or river, then we sit out on the back deck and enjoy the evening with a bbq and some music. The back deck and bar area is actually our favorite part of this place. We sit out there in the morning and watch the birds while we drink our coffee. We sit out there in the evening, have some wine and watch the sun go down while listening to music. The house is nice, and the swamp cooler keeps the you very comfortable after a hot day in the lake. I recommend this rental to anyone who is in a budget that wants and needs a special getaway!

Relaxing nature getaway
Great place to get away from the city. There’s a lot of nature to see and places to sit by the creek. Coffee on the porch in the morning and fires at night. Close to whitewater rafting and hiking. Also close to shops and eating in town. I would prefer this to a hotel. Feels more like home.

Great value - great amenities...
One of the best deals anywhere on homeaway. com. Had a slight hiccup upon arrival, but Sharon was there to help. The cabin has everything you might need. Bring your own food, of course. Would I go again? Without a doubt. 100% satisfied!

Wanted for nothing while there
The home was perfect for our weekend plans. The first thing we saw when pulling up for the first time....deer on the property. Kitchen complete with coffee maker. The external adventurous cabin was cozy and perfect for the one who snores =). It was peaceful. Great weekend! Sharon was responsive to questions within just a few minutes.

Wonderful, just a very nice place to call "Home "
We had a very nice visit. Came from Indiana, via, Arizona, then So. California. To be a meeting place for a family get together. Most of our party made it. All of us enjoyed the property and surrounding area. The 2nd day ,we all did some exploring. Such a beautiful gift from God , we are so glad we were able to come. Planning to visit again in the future. Any concerns were easily fixed by a message to the owner, who answered quickly.

Beautiful!
Property was well-cared for and the owner was very responsive when we needed them to be. Our grandkids had a blast exploring the creeks surrounding the property and we enjoyed the beautiful view from the deck.
