Private Apartment in Wismar on the Baltic Sea

Hello and good day,

This is our private second home, which we (unfortunately) can only use occasionally and therefore rent out when it’s available.

Our apartment is approximately 60 square meters and has two floors (not wheelchair accessible).
It is centrally located in Wismar’s Old Town, in a historic building.
It is ideal for two people. The bedroom has a bed measuring 140 x 200 cm.

If 3–4 people are staying, there are 2 sofa beds available in the living area. However, it might get a bit cramped, which is why, although we do allow bookings for 4 adults, we generally do not recommend it.

We offer our apartment at a very reasonable rate because we are still in the process of carrying out some renovations and cosmetic repairs (including outside the apartment), though these will not affect your stay (in terms of noise). We’re doing renovations when we don’t have guests. For example, the bathroom is still the original one from the 1990s. It’s not very attractive, but it’s functional, of course.

The courtyard and garden area aren’t explicitly part of the apartment, but you’re welcome to use them (along with the long-term tenants).

This is a non-smoking apartment. You’re welcome to smoke outside in the covered communal courtyard, where you can also enjoy a glass of wine and have a friendly get-together with the other (long-term) tenants, if you’d like.

Small pets are welcome. However, please let us know in advance if you plan to bring one. Please bring a dog bed for small dogs and under no circumstances allow them to sleep on the sofas or in the bed. Dog surcharge: 10€ per stay.

Conclusion

Pros: Great location, nice apartment (except for the bathroom, which is still under renovation), friendly neighbors, and Wismar’s Old Town and harbor—with many great restaurants and shopping options—are within walking distance.

Cons: We (currently) don’t have Wi-Fi in the apartment yet and use our cell phones as hotspots when we’re there. The entryway and the bathroom aren’t very nice right now. But if you don’t want to spend your vacation in the entryway or the bathroom, you’ll have a wonderful stay here with us. Best regards, Ella
