"Very welcoming, quirky and unique experience. Breakfast amazing with lovely staff. Lovely clean cell only issue was didn't get much sleep due to the hard pillows. Definitely would stay again and recommended. Great pub next door ."

"The room was well proportioned and it has a lift, Yeah! So many places in England you have to try dragging 20kg bags upstairs. The food was really good which surprised ups as the menus did not look exciting but was well cooked and very tasty"

"I needed a place near the Saxon sites and Cathedral. And it didn't hurt that the Westgate was just a five minute walk from the rail station. It's an old place, and it had the feel of the ages in the floors and doors. But that was part of the overall experience for me. It had charm. The staff was very accommodating, and I had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Westgate. It was all good. And it was across the street from the medieval Westgate to the city as well. I would stay there again if ever...

"Ficamos apenas uma diária neste hotel, mas é um hotel muito bonito em uma área perto, mas um pouco afastada do centro de Winchester, com um restaurante à noite e um ótimo café da manhã. Quarto bem limpo e espaçoso. Em geral muito agradável. Tem um estacionamento amplo para quem está com carro."

"There is no guest house, it's a scam, fraud, fake. I want my money back! They accept booking, you get confirmation and you don't get room, they don't answer your call. Need to report it to every possible site!"

"We had a lovely stay. Andrew was a great host and showed us everything we needed. The bar was humming and our dinner was fabulous. We had a great nights sleep. The renovated bathroom was excellent and had a nice big shower. Room 2 was lovely overall. Breakfast in the morning was excellent.. Overall we had a lovely overnight stay at the Cricketers Inn and would not hesitate to stay here again when in the area. "

"Hotel is in a lovely area and looks beautiful inside and out. The staff I met were nice, however was disappointed after having a long day to arrive and told they were not serving any food (was around 7pm). Our room was nice and mostly clean (empty bottles were left on the floor when we arrived) and the TV would only work on BBC1 and ITV and we couldn't use the remote as this didnt work either 🙈"

"Very friendly and accommodating staff. Recently refurbished bar, restaurant and rooms. Most powerful shower I’ve ever had! I had a lovely Sunday Roast whilst there too."

"Walkable to the train station and cruise terminals. But the property was pootly maintained. Our room locked but the common front door doesn't lock and is not secure. There was peeling paint in our room, no control of room heat, no towels, no cups, no control over shower water temperature and no remote for the very small TV."

"Upon arrival, I was initially assigned an occupied room. The place was unstaffed, and the provided phone number was unreachable. I had to ask other guests for an alternative number. I called, texted, and left a WhatsApp message on that number, but received no response for at least an hour.When I finally received a text message with details for a new room, I found the bed was broken and the room was freezing cold. A staff member told me he would come to fix the issue but ultimately never showed...

"Worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Yes it was budget and it was just for an overnight stop in a continuing journey but broken tiles, broken and damaged panels & threadbare curtains. No staff available in the morning to discuss. Just very Delapidated and way past worn out!!"
