Cowan Cozy Cottage

This amazing cottage nestled in the woods features all the comforts of home in the middle of paradise. Located with direct access to Lake Cowan this cottage is also within walking distance to the main south beach, hiking trails, great fishing holes and numerous picnic pavilions. As for taking in the local activities the Cowan Sailing club, Cowan State Park and World Equestrian Center are all located less than 5 minutes drive.

This Cottage sleeps 6 comfortably with 1 queen size bed located in a private bedroom, Queen Murphy bed located in the great room in addition to a loft accessed by ladder to a Queen bed. All the comforts of home can be found here with large walk in ceramic tile shower, full size kitchen with granite counters, full size appliances, dining area for 6-8 people, washer/dryer on site. WIFI and streaming service provided.

Outdoors features large 12' x 24' deck facing the lake, large side patio off master bedroom, fire pit, outdoor grill and of course nature up close and personal.

Our second visit was just as cozy as the first

This is our second year in a row of renting the Cozy Cottage. Itā€™s a wonderful location to get away from it all while still close to plenty of Cowan Lake trails and Caesarā€™s Creek activities for the kids. We loved being to bring our dog and find all the amenities to feel like we were glamping. :)

Exactly What We Wanted

Fantastic Dog friendly place!

We were so impressed by how nice this place is. It is comfortable, well maintained and beautiful. The scenery is great and the fireflies put on a great show every night. We had a great time staying there while attending a dog show at the Robert's Center. The location was very convenient.

Peaceful sanctuary!

I loved my stay at this cottage! The peaceful, quiet setting was a welcomed respite from the daily chaos of a dog show at the Roberts Centre in Wilmington. The drive was very easy and sometimes I went back & forth several times daily. The cottage was larger than I expected, and very comfortable. I greatly appreciated that the owners permitted my two dogs. I hope future renters with pets continue to respect this property so the owner will continue to allow dogs. Thank you!!

Relaxing Stay

Cabin has everything needed to relax, fire pit, outdoor dining with chairs, comfortable bedding, & wide open space inside to relax. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook what we wanted. Second stay and will return.

EXACTLY what I needed

Stayed at the cabin for 6 nights while in town for work. Thank goodness all of the hotels were full because I never wouldā€™ve found this gem. I needed peace and quiet to rest and study and thatā€™s exactly what this cabin provided. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything I needed (including an electric kettle!) Communication with Tom was super fast and helpful. Couldnā€™t ask for more!

Weekend getaway

Cottage was perfect for us. Clean, and secluded. My only disappointment was that we couldnt walk to the water but was a short ride away. Had family over Saturday and was a great time.

Cabin retreat

Excellent Location

For a writer looking to getaway and get some work done, I couldn't have asked for a more quiet, peaceful, and serene location. The proximity to the lake was ideal and the cottage itself was beyond comfortable. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

A smaller group stayed here a wedding at the Ren fair, which was a convient 20 minute drive. There were 3 total beds that worked well for us. Tom was easy to talk with and super accommodating towards us.

Little cottage in the woods

My wife and I went here for a little get away. The cottage is tucked into the woods and is nice and quiet if your looking for a place to just relax this is the place. Everything that you you need is available to you here has a nicely stock kitchen and all the furniture in the house is great quality. We spent the evening sitting by the fire pit in the back yard and you donā€™t hear any noise except birds.

Anniversary vacation

We stayed 4 days and enjoyed lounging around and fishing at nearby lake Cowan. Very comfortable and cool. Would visit again. Wilmington was only about 15 minutes away with restaurants and kroger for anything you may have forgotten. Be sure to visit Laney Cakes Bakery on friday and saturday since the close every other day, they had amazing foods. Quiet area, had no neighbors in other cabins that we knew or heard of. The back windows face the woods and are angled away from neighboring lots so privacy is good.
