Wrightington also has a couple of good pubs and restaurants within the village. The nearby Wrightington Hotel and Country Club also offers great spa and golf packages. A wider range of amenities can be found in Wigan, and from here you can take a train to Liverpool, Manchester, Preston, Birmingham, or even London! Thanks to its proximity to the motorway network, less than 2 miles from junction 27, off the M6, there are so many places to visit within easy driving distance. Blackpool, whose many attractions include; the famous Blackpool Tower, Blackpool Zoo, Pleasure Beach, Sealife Centre, Madame Tussauds, water park, and annual illuminations, is just a 40-minute drive away. The popular cities of Liverpool, Manchester, and Lancaster are all within a 45-minute drive, and just over an hour away is Cumbria’s stunning Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Park. Within a short drive, you can also find Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley, with its quaint villages, excellent walks, and welcoming country pubs, as well as the Forest of Bowland (Area of Outstanding National Beauty).
