Our family hunting party of three adults and two kids had a great stay. We had plenty of room for everyone to spread out yet the open concept living areas allowed for fun fellowship in the evenings to share meals, watch football, and play cards. The owners are only minutes away and were incredibly flexible with us regarding the check-in and check-out processes. We appreciated the personal touch in being able to meet and talk with them in-person while checking in and out. Would recommend!

Lovely home!

From the time we booked our stay, the owners/property managers kept in touch, answering any questions. They also reached out to us the day before providing information on check-in. They met us at the house to give us the keys and to answer any questions. We had an instant connection, and appreciated how involved they were with the property. This was a beautiful home with easy access. The way the house was built facing open fields provided beautiful views of sunrises and sunsets, along with deer each night, cattle and horses nearby. We can’t say enough about this property and the owners. We definitely recommend this spacious and lovely home that has everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing vacation!

We had a wonderful stay. The cabin had plenty of room for our family of 5 and our dog. We loved the clean and comfortable cabin. It has a beautiful view and a secluded feel.

Stunning property 💚

A private, peaceful, beautifully built home sitting on a fenced pasture facing away from town with stunning views of the Black Hills including cattle and horses. 3 gorgeous decks-views on every side of this home. This home was built facing a direction where you even have privacy while you are outdoors and set very far away from the road with an entryway marked by large boulders and iron eagle sculptures. Immaculately clean with oversized comfortable furniture in each living area.

Amazing Trip

Owners where awesome very accommodating Beds where Comfortable Kitchen fully stocked and house was spotless the property was spacious and enjoyed all the wildlife in fields in afternoon would definitely recommend and will book again

Great house!

We really enjoyed our stay there. House is clean, perfect location, quiet, and just what we were looking for. Dave and Barb were great, super helpful, and we only saw them at check-in and check-out, so had plenty of privacy. Beautiful sunrises in the yard, and only minutes from Deadwood, Sturgis, and Spearfish. Horses in the pasture next door were beautiful. WiFi and TV worked great. Exactly as advertised.

The Greatest Black Hills Vacation

We had the best time ever in Whitewood! Perfect location and truly centered among all the great sites to see - Keystone, Spearfish, Deadwood, Sylvan Lake and many others. Barb and Dave were so kind and our kids are still talking about our visit with them! I would recommend this cabin to anyone with a family! We all felt like we were at home. The cabin was well stocked with everything and was absolutely perfect for our family! We will definitely be back and will recommend this cabin to family and friends!! Thanks again for a great experience!

Relaxing oasis!

This property was a true gem! There are several seating areas and a beautiful view from the porch and decks. All of the amenities and the nicest hosts! Truly a great place to stay!

This was the right choice.

Stayed here for a long weekend after tourist season ended, and it was perfect for us. Owners were friendly and responsive and answered questions promptly. The cabin was well-stocked for a rental and had an abundance of linens. Plenty of space to relax together or spend time alone; you never felt crowded. We’ll be returning for the next trip.

Great home

Very comfortable home. Dave and Barb were very helpful. Will use this home on next trip to SD. Close to my Rushmore. Crazy Horse. Devils Tower. Sturgess Deadwood. And spearfish. Bullwackets bar was. Fun with good food only 5 mins from home. Saw lots of wildlife from porch. Beautiful views of sunrise and sunset from porch.

Great location!!!

The property is in a great location!! The house is in a quiet area and also close to Spearfish, if you need to pick up anything or get a bite to eat. (I recommend the Millstone Restaurant). The location is convenient to not only Spearfish, but Deadwood and Sturgis too! The house had every amenity that you need!! The check in /out was great! Communication with Dave & Barb was good, was nice talking with Dave. He was there to greet us when we arrived! The only thing was that I was not able to get a good night's sleep the whole time I was there because the bed I slept in, you felt all the springs in the mattress and a could not get comfortable at all. I don't know about the other two beds. Overall a great place !!!!

Great House but the owners were a little too present

The house itself was great. There was ample room for all of us and it was comfortable. The kitchen layout made no sense and we weren't happy with the lack of bowls/etc. but we made do. The bathrooms were kind of small. The house was clean and we loved sitting on the deck. The biggest problems were check in/check out and, as I like to call it, 'owner intervention.' When I do VRBO, I like to be left alone. The owners here want to physically check you in and check you out. I was delayed but my friend checked in on time - the owner did not notify us that the one door DID NOT LOCK until check in. There was no email notification and no attempt to fix it prior to our arrival. So, we pretty much stayed the entire time with the house unlocked. Then, the owners 'popped in' to change the propane tank on the grill. This should have been done before we checked in, if at all. After that the owner stopped by to see if we minded if they mowed the lawn (yes, we did mind because it was Sunday morning.) They requested that we contact them before leaving so we could do a 'walk through' with them. Sorry, that's what a security deposit is for. All in all, the house was great but the owners seemed nosy and I didn't appreciate having them around much. If you don't mind owner intervention, this might be the place for you. If you are like me and hate people popping in, don't rent this house.
