There is even a wall mounted TV, so you can catch up on your favourite soaps whilst rustling up the dinner. A visit to Whitby is not complete without sampling some of the freshly caught seafood, from fish and chips, scampi to crab and lobster. It is a town steeped in history, learn more about Captain Cook at one of the many museums including one on a replica ship in the harbour, or take the famous 199 steps to St Mary’s Church and iconic abbey for a taste of Whitby’s heritage. 19 miles to the south, Scarborough remains a quintessential and much loved seaside resort, with its two sandy beaches, castle, lovely Peasholm Park, Sea Life Sanctuary, Open Air Theatre and Alpamare Water Park and Wellness Spa - all well worth a visit.
