Hosts on the Coast Chill out on Charleston

If you are looking for a real “Kiwi Bach” holiday, then check out “Chill Out on Charleston” located in Whangamata, one of the Coromandel’s favourite holiday hotspots.
This retro bach has 3 bedrooms and one bathroom and can sleep up to 8 guests. There are two queen bedrooms, and the third bedroom has a queen and three single beds. The master and bedroom three directly access the deck area. The lounge flows through to the cosy sunroom where you will find comfy seating. This is a great place to chill out and read a book, enjoy the afternoon sun, card games or sundowners. The kitchen has all the basics you would need for your stay and the dining table seats 6.
Outside there is a BBQ, an outdoor table setting and plenty of space to park the car and boat. With lovely big trees, there is a large lawn area front and back to enjoy family games.
It’s about a 10-minute walk to the beach, and 2 minutes’ walk to town.

Whangamata is about an hour and a half from Auckland, Hamilton or Tauranga and is a popular coastal town with a fantastic surf and swimming beach. Take a kayak tour to Donut Island or take a trip or hike to Wentworth Falls. There are plenty of shops and cafes in the town take a drive out to Opoutere Beach and check out the Coastal Bird Reserve or grab your paddleboard and head to the estuary where the waters are a bit calmer. Let's not forget that Whangamata is home to the famous Beach Hop held every March for a week where vintage cars, caravans and motorbikes from around NZ are showcased. Vintage markets are operating and it's a family-friendly party atmosphere not to be missed!
