"Yes, the room was spotless but it is the friendliness of the staff that makes our stay most enjoyable. The wide choice of breakfast suits everyone. Unfortunately we found the evening dinners a little too rich for our taste on this visit. Previous visits have had more choice for the evening meal, with some more 'basic' meals available. However the chef was most accommodating when it came to catering for allergies. "

"Steve is welcoming and runs a beautiful hotel. My room overlooked the sea,and was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely , fresh fruits, compôte , yoghurts, warm bread and croissants. Lovely coffee. All in all I would recommend Chapter 1 as a very civilised resting place. "

"I was attending a course in the leisure centre next door. The Aqua was an excellent, relaxed place to stay. The staff/owners were polite, friendly and generated a relaxed atmosphere. The small, well stocked bar carried on this relaxing, informal atmosphere. (The squeaky bar stools could do with fixing but were still amusing) The food is top notch and very affordable. "The breakfast was included in our booking, I thought it would just be a continental one but we could chose anything from the menu. We were actually the only people staying on a cold night in winter but the staff made an effort to make us welcome. I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, the chef made the best scrambled eggs I've ever had with chopped chives that really elevated the dish.
