"I was attending a course in the leisure centre next door. The Aqua was an excellent, relaxed place to stay. The staff/owners were polite, friendly and generated a relaxed atmosphere. "The view from the hotel is spectacular. Inside the room and corridors the decor is dated and shabby. The bathroom taps were grubby with grime and difficult to turn. No bottled water in the room and next to no soundproofing between rooms, especially bathrooms. The fire doors in the corridor banged when shutting. "Our room was clean and comfortable but showing its age. Although it had been freshened up, the TV was quite old and picture quality was SD when these days one might expect HD. "We paid extra for a gold room with a sea view, unfortunately it meant we could hear all the evening entertainment in the pub below which went on till late. (We heard every word through the microphone, including bingo and karaoke singing) Unfortunately the hotel staff couldn't do anything about, although they did try. Had we paid less and had a smaller room higher up it probably would have been better which is a shame. But it was great to have the beach so close out the front door. "
