"Return visit, overnight stay to attend a funeral next morning. Checked in at 8:10pm (not a very warm welcome), only to be told the restaurant closes at 8pm. In a hotel! I asked if an exception could please be made as it was only a few minutes, and we’d been driving over 2 hours, but was told no (without even asking the kitchen) - no bar food available either. "We had a nice and comfortable stay overall. The venue is lovely, with beautiful views and a great location. The rooms were nice, although a little dated in places.
There were just a few things that could have been better. The toiletries were very limited for two people – only one soap, one shower gel and one body lotion. There was also a crack in the shower, and the water was filling up when using the sink, which wasn’t ideal.
The spa was lovely, but we were disappointed that we had to pay...

Great location for Downley Hill walks, West Wycombe and Princes Risborough, Aylesbury, Thames and Oxford.
Nice helpful and obliging receptionist Narinder and the smiley guy whose name I cannot remember.
Thanks, and see you again soon. 😃"
