"Very good breakfast and a wide selection of food available all day. Spotlessly clean room and pleasant indoor and outdoor seating areas. Mattress was too soft but that's more of a personal preference."

"This is a wonderful property with lots of historic charm and stunning scenery right on the doorstep! I stayed 4 nights and Karen really looked after me; delicious cooked breakfast each morning and a newly lit fire in the evenings to sit beside. She gave me a tour of her gorgeous garden and introduced me to her feathered friends; the chickens, cockerel and pheasant as well as her lovely dogs. Tea/coffee and biscuit were replenished daily. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, with lots of local advice - we couldn’t have chosen a better guest house for our Lake District break.
