Large country property in beautiful setting. Enjoy wildlife yet be close to all amenities in Huntington, Barboursville and even Charleston WV . Beautiful in any season. Excellent for Retreats or Reunions, even out of town Wedding guests.
1 bedroom with queen bed and sitting area on second floor.
1 bedroom with 2 twin beds and sitting area on second floor.
Separate sitting area in second floor hallway.
Possibility to add Jenny Lind twin w/trundle to either bedroom ($40 extra per booking).
Large Family room with large smart TV on first floor.
Large Formal living and dining rooms on first floor.

Oars or Ours Kayaks in South Charleston (40 miles) rents Kayaks & SUP Boards for extended days and will deliver.

Ohio River Manor

This was our second stay at this home mostly do to the fact its close to other family, accepts pets, and has a private larger yard. We also like the old historical nature of the home. I mentioned on my previous review of the home needing some TLC. The home is still the same, no fixes that we can see from two years ago. Some things inside need fixing, but mostly the exterior wood trim,porches, and landscaping. I find it sad to see this Historical home roting away. There is so much potential. I would also love to see the sitting area on the river fixed and cut back to see the river once again. The host is pleasant and has good communication. The host does stay in a house less than 200ft from the home, so be aware of that Inside, its like walking back in time(good wow factor). The kitchen is also supplied well.

Christmas Get Away

This was such a warm and inviting home. It had everything we needed for a holiday get together. Sydnee was the perfect host. Excellent on communication. We felt so at home here. We will return.

Relaxation 101

This house just oozes history, good times, and relaxation! We also stayed here in 2022, but enjoyed it this time even more. We spent lots of time on the front porch catching glimpses of the sun or moon reflecting off the mighty Ohio River, watching for deer, and visiting with family. Sydnee is a gracious host and made us feel very welcome again this visit. We accidentally left some clothes behind and she called to tell us before we got very far away so we could go back to get them! We hope to stay here again next summer!

Great stay

This is our third time staying at this property. It's very large and beautiful. There is plenty of room for everyone to stay. Peaceful and quiet property and our host is always very helpful and accommodating and easily reachable if we have any questions. We will be back again next year! :)

Relaxing week in West Virginia

We absolutely loved our stay at Sydneeā€™s beautiful home. Sydnee was accommodating and responsive. The house is such a gem and the stay was fun and enjoyable. The boys loved fishing in the pond and everyone enjoyed the porches - they were used daily to watch the deer, geese, squirrels, rabbits and birds- this is a nature loverā€™s dream! We also enjoyed star gazing at night. It was a much needed break from the city life and we most certainly hope to stay in this beautiful home again. Thanks for a wonderful week of beautiful family memories that are priceless!

Beautiful Property

We loved this historical building. The interiors were beautifully redone. It was nice and private as well. We were able to relax and have fun here with no issues. There was plenty to do in a short drive away for fun day trips as well.

Wonderful Gem

The house was wonderful and charming. We ended up calling a group of friends to give them a tour of the house because we were so impressed. The pictures online donā€™t quite capture how charming and peaceful this property is. My group of friends were all delighted and would be glad to come back as we travel around this area often.

Cousins Weekend

What a fantastic location. We enjoyed walking the property and viewing the river below. The inside of the home was exactly what we wanted, in fact, it was hard to leave the place. We felt at home. The kitchen is so well appointed that we were able to prepare most all of our meals there. It was easy to get to downtown Huntington to explore. Sydnee is a wonderful hostess and most gracious when I lost my wallet, she said we could stay an extra hour while we worked with authorities. Lost it downtown. Found it!!

Dated Home by the River

Property was very personal to the owner, with family pictures and ā€œdown homeā€ decor that was family oriented. Feel of the property was ā€œstep back in time.ā€ The property heating and cooling was a little difficult but that was able to be adjusted to the fall temperatures yo-yo. We took our pets, and they seemed very comfortable in the surroundings.

WOW! - This place made our trip so much better!

We stayed at Sydnee's place for 2 nights and would have loved to stay longer. Sydnee shared the history and pictures of the rehabilitation of the house and it was fascinating. There were little things in the house that could use sprucing up but the house and Sydnee made our trip very enjoyable. The kitchen provided EVERYTHING you can imagine from Pots & Pans to appliances that you just do not see in a VRBO. Thank you Sydnee for sharing your piece of history and we are all looking forward to renting again!

Great retreat

Spacious, quiet, and scenic enough for a writers' retreat for two couples and a dog. The house was welcoming from start to finish with everything we needed including little notes on anything that could be confusing. Will be perfect for a peaceful week away once Frontier figures out Internet load balancing on Sundays.
